18 out of 18
im a geek and im proud of it - good memories with the audio though :)
(i did have to guess burger time but got lucky, so its technically a 17 unless it was hidden in my unconcious psyche somewhere.
:D
i saw a RIP Zoltan on someones sig and did a name search, the whole thing has completely passed me by, ive been so moved reading through the posts (and on the my cancer thread) i would like to donate, and will do via paypal shortly.
you have to remove the bit at the back of the board, its tough as nails though, so you might need to use a hairdryer on it, should slide off then (did with mine ;) )
when i had the board it was reporting 53C idle and that was with water cooling - i wouldnt worry about the temps, my temps were the same from stock speed up to 2.6ghz
the problems i accounted were attributed to overclocking, at stock it was very stable, just when i pushed it past 2.6ghz (3500) that it was giving problems.
I really liked the board too - was a bit niggly, but nothing major that annoyed me - but my satellite setup used too much resources on it, so i had to go back to p4 (HT, best invention since the wheel) and swapped my 2.6C for a 30 capper 3.0C that does 3.9 - and its about 10% slower than the...
have you tried using the other 2 sata ports on the board ?
I maxxed out the same as you tho, about 2.6ghz (235fsb) or so. Was lightning fast at that tho.
starting to wonder who's pocket annandtech is in. (MSI's obviously :) )
They got to 300 FSB pretty quickly with their chip - well i cant even do 250x10 with my pc4000 which did 270fsb in my intel.
phooey!
im using 2 satas - (not raid) samsung spinpoints - and i didnt need to load the sata drivers on load up, just installed without a hitch (the OS install that is).
