I think the 4070 Super is a bit of an odd card. The performance boost for same money is kind of nice but thing putting me off spending that money wasn't today's performance but what 12GB means for the future so it's not really swaying me.
I was looking at the increase in performance modern CPUs have over my i9 9900 the other day and it was pretty eye opening. I'm sticking with it for now and maybe getting a 7800XT if the prices are reasonable.
That's the big question here and given the modular nature of PCs it seems wrong that the adapter you use can invalidate a warranty. As long as you're not being wilfully negligent I don't see why it should matter.
Asus voiding the warranty for using a third party power adapter leaves a real sour taste in my mouth. Where do they draw the line? Do they have a list of approved PSU vendors? Would a set of Corsair braided cables void the warranty? That all just feels wrong to me.
Whenever I've seen reports of class action suits in America they usually end up with the consumer receiving a cheque for 70 cents after a 7 year court case so they're not that incredible
I think AMD are the only company offering a decent £300-ish GPU right now which must be quite an appealing price point. But is it enough to steal any sales from Nvidia? Who knows.
I'm sure their hands are tied. They'd love to offer a lower price but you have to think that they're only making billions in profit. It's tough for them.
