    New oven - wiring query

Is that a typo? Running a 5.6 kW hob on a 16 A (~3.8 kW) circuit is equally not good  It really should be a 32 A feed for an electric hob.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Looking at the datasheets for those two panels, they don't look exactly the same. The cell design is slightly different. Looking at the panels closely or taking a zoomed in picture should make it somewhat clear as to which of the two it is, or at least which family it is.

Very stormy here too, but the cold, wet weather does lead to some nice peaks when the sun breaks through. Saw 10.6 kW briefly this morning. Definitely won't be a 50 kWh day like yesterday though!

Some clouds today, but generally quite a bit nicer than it has been in a good while. 53.0 kWh today.

Difference between big name and no name breakdown cover

We had RAC cover. I broke down last year (failed brake/siezed caliper), around 85 miles from home. Our recovery took 18 hours. We were initially told 30 minutes to attend due to high prioirty (broken down on 70 MPH road), that took 7 hours for attendance, who recovered us to a motorway services...

    Solar panel production figures

44.9 kWh for us yesterday, our best day yet. 42.1 kWh today. Partly sunny both days. Would be nice to see what a clear day could do now!

Configuring Hue Light and Extractor Fan

I'd actually disagree with this. The amount of air exchange a typical bathroom extractor does in the ~1 minute head start a non-humidstat has is tiny. It basically makes no difference at all. What is worse is this situation: Fan turns off after 10 minutes after the lights. So you either need...

    Solar panel production figures

35.3 kWh for us today, unexpected because the day before the forecast was for full cloud cover today. In the end we got some sunny spells. Speaking of high spikes, we also had a new record on the PV side too. Looking at the raw data, appears to be a 10,331 W peak. Quite a bit over our...

    Solar panel production figures

We only managed 13.5 kWh for he day, pretty dark for most of it! Thanks to some better days in the last week or so we finished March on 730 kWh for the month in total.

    Solar panel production figures

We tied our previous best day today, 37.9 kWh. Didn't feel like it though, the generation really fell off once the afternoon cloud and rain rolled in!

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Also need to consider where the batteries will be when thinking about charge/discharge rates. If you have them indoors within the house then nothing to worry about, but if you put them in a loft/outside/garage/other 'cold' space then performance can be a good bit lower during the cold months.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

We ended up with Growatt in our system given the options we had. We were apprehensive about it at the time given some of the comments we'd heard, but having used it for a while now I'd probably take it again in preference to other options. It's not been long enough to talk about long term...

    Solar panel production figures

33.4 today, but it started clouding over just before 11 so that hurt the afternoon generation. Tomorrow looks to be a washout on the forecast :(

    Solar panel production figures

We've had a modest start to March so far. 14.2 / 22.0 / 18.1 for the first three days. It looks a little better for the next few days, but still a fair amount of cloud on the forecast. And speaking of generation spikes and potental clipping, I did catch our system generating at over it's...

    Solar panel production figures

6.6 for us today, rained all day pretty much. 439.2 kwh in total for February.

Better than expected again, but quite frequent cloud cover. Our generation graph was all over the place today. 25.8 kWh.

    Solar panel production figures

35.4 yesterday, a new high. 24.0 today. Next few days look more cloudy though so expecting a drop!

    Solar panel production figures

It clouded over a bit in the afternoon but the morning was nice and clear, better than the forecast said! 31.7 today, highest so far.

    The nervous wait to exchange....

Any new build with a loft hatch (which is every single one I've seen!) is still required to meet the requirement for someone walking around up there, and a 25 kg/m2 static load. No such thing as not designed for humans if access is provided.

    Solar panel production figures

We managed 4.0 yesterday, not a good day! It's raining again today but it's seems a little brighter despite that. Hovering around 1.35 kW at the moment, enough for a little charging.
