Hey all,
I'm looking to build a PC and need some advice. I've built many times before but not looked at hardware for around 4 years now so my knowledge is out of date :)
I don't play too many games but I want to be able to download and play something like Cities Skylines or Don't Starve...
Hi all,
I'm looking for a system that will let me store all my users.
We have multiple sites (some are .NET and some are PHP).
The system should hold the usernames and passwords and should allow us to authenticate against it.
Any idea where to start looking?!
Thanks!
Wordpress is simple and supported by most hosting providers, has loads of templates and modules that are easy to install and lots of support from other users/developers online!
You could go for something like Joomla or Drupal, but I doubt you'll benefit from any of these.
If I was making a new...
^ that should do the trick.
The white class has a white background, so I would imagine every link inside a white div will need to be updated!
If you don't want to do that, you cuold give the "a" tag an ID, and set a CSS property for that ID...
e.g
<a href="somelink.html" id="linka">here</a>...
I'm not sure about your question, but taking this opportunity to rant about 1and1 :p
I registered a domain with them when I was in uni using my uni email address.
I'm no longer at uni and don't have access to that email address.
I can't log in to the account.

Do you not have a dedicated web team? I know NHS Scotland do - would have thought England would too?
The first step I would take would be:
Open this file:
/templates/eleganttheme/css/template.css
Find "#main"
Remove the "background-image" line
This removes the background image and leaves...
Yep - My guess is the person who developed the code had that turned on, but drumdogg's configuration (quite rightly) has it turned off, so by doing what Ed has mentioned, could fix it!
Again, I'm still at work, so this is a guess instead of actually sitting down and testing it out! :p
Try putting a space inbetween LIKE and '%
or change it to something like:
$data = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM ******** WHERE upper($field) LIKE '%" . $find . "%'");
I'm not sure if this is even where the problem is - I've just had a quick look during lunch :p
:edit: Hold on, I can't see...
Yes, that will stop all robots, and It shouldn't do any harm once you remove this! I always do this during development stages :)
Once you do plan on removing it, remember submit a sitemap to Google in the webmaster tools! Really handy to find out what Google thinks about your site.
If you have DNS management with fasthosts, your current nameservers will be something like:
ns5.fasthosts.co.uk
ns6.fasthosts.co.uk
Don't change this.
--------
Go into the DNS management and set up the following records:
"A" record for yourdomain.com - 104.54.67.54 (your server IP address)...
What are you planning on running? (sorry If i've missed it :p )
I'm not being funny here... but i've ran exsi with 4GB ram and an old intel processor on an old Dell that work didn't use anymore, and ran Windows and OpenBSD machines no bother... so 16GB? yeah, you'll be more than fine, and the...
I think all you have to do is upload the jquery.min.js file to the server, include it in the code like a normal JS file, then it should all work fine?
I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong :p
You'll be fine! They know you're a student and they'll know it's your first web dev job!
They'll probably get you to do some small content updates and that sort of stuff for a while, but you'll get into the swing of things in no time! Just enjoy yourself - You've picked the best industry ( in...
