thanks tamzzy for taking the time to help,
I think I'll need to downgrade to the 8c as you've suggested.
If I wanted to connect 3 monitors I assume I'll need a graphics card? If so, what would the cheapest option be because I don't need it for gaming or anything too strenuous.
EDIT: I've just...
Thanks tamzzy,
I would probably just want to go for something that has integrated GPU.
Yes it's mainly just large excel files and quite a few reports to run on the accounts software. There can be up to 20 excel sheets open with a few instances of the account's software. I was thinking of going...
Ah ok, do the ryzen cpus not have integrated graphics like the intel ones?
It's going to be a work PC, so lot's of excel sheets and working with a lot of data and accounting software.
hi tamzzy,
I think I'm not really going to be doing much video editing but it's something I might look at in future so I don't need a graphics card to begin with.
I just want a powerful workstation with the the new Ryzen CPU, in essence just the basic compatible parts with that cpu such as...
Hello,
Sorry just wanted to ask, I've seen that there's a bit more stock of the newer AMD CPUs now and was thinking of doing a build around the RYZEN 5 5600X SIX CORE 4.6GHZ, would someone be able to help with suitable parts i.e. motherboard, RAM etc?
I've held out from buying the older Ryzen...
Wow, I've just checked the forum and it seems its quite a mess... nothing has changed in regards to criteria and you're right, I'll think about what @Gray2233 suggested.
Thank you for the reply.
Hi all,
Thank you for all the replies.
So i'm guessing going down the Intel route is a no no? is it because of price/value for money?
I initially said i'll be using 2 monitors however I may need 3 in future if that changes anything.
I don't mind waiting a few weeks to see the prices of the...
There will be 2 monitors, it's mainly to VPN into work but also a lot of playing around with VMs in my spare time.
For work it won't be VPN all the time as i'll need to work with large spreadsheets last cally too.
I don't have any spare parts unfortunately...
The video editing I think i'll stick with it on my MacBook for now so I won't need a graphics card for this build.
If the cost is higher than what i've outlined i'll certainly consider it but I just wanted to get a rough idea of the parts I would...
Hello,
I'm looking to build a new PC for mainly work and possibly video editing, I was thinking of using the Intel Core i9-9900 cpu.
The budget is between £600 - £750.
Any suggestions would be really helpful.
Thanks guys for the input.
I'm looking at 1080p videos for the moment to see how I get on.
I have a SSD drive and the one large mechanical drive for storage and like you said the SSD definitely helps.
For now i'll just get the 16gb Ram and the 1050ti and see how it goes, I don't really want...
Hi all,
I've recently got into photography and also shooting a few video clips.
I use Lightroom and Premiere Pro for editing but these programs run sluggishly as you would expect with my current aging setup listed below.
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (overclocked to 4.4ghz)
Corsair XMS3 4GB...
