It depends on if you really need ti performance or not, if you don't then there is no reason to "waste" extra money and then something like the 1080 Classified would be a good purchase :)
I was going to go down the ti route as I had the cash laying around but then settled for a 1080 Waterforce...
Probably with the fact that the lowering of 1080 prices will affect the pricing structure and perceived value for money the next AMD offering will end up with rather than it being a "given" that AMD will release something cheaper with nearly the same power (for example).

Sapphire, had a 5850 die literally 1 day after warranty expired and was told no chance at a replacement (on the flipside my two 970's from Asus have been flawless)
My trusty old Antec needs to be replaced due to 8 years of hard life (3 international house moves and a puppy that preferred it to his toys).

Good to hear, got a couple of Samsung 4k monitors which although nice (for the games I play) have been annoying as hell due to having to run HDMI on one and DP on the other.
I have a Q9550 running @3.81 with a P5Q Deluxe MB, 6GB Corsair Domminator and a Sapphire 5850 Toxic 2GB, all of which allows me to play BF3 with everything on high (not tried ultra as it looks pretty enough) just fine, no lag spikes at all....
They are super easy to oc, I had mine running...
