Avx stress tests are cpu torture tests and all they do is serve to degrade your cpu, create lots of heat and consume lots of power. totally pointless/zero real world benefits and potentially damaging when limits are removed.

100% I remember back in the days of Win 98 people complaining about windows XP and Legacy software but windows needed to move on from its backbone of Msdos and it did. I'm a huge fan of retro gaming but i don't expect Amd or Intel to stifle or compromise development for legacy software.

That's a completely different technology, it's pretty cool however, allowing per cylinder control of not only spark timing but also injector timing and quantity control.

Lots to choose from , personally I'd avoid anything with the 1.6 hdi (tdci in fords) engine, their not the best and reliability can be poor with leaking injectors , blown turbos, fuel rail, dpf and egr faults. Audi a4s are pretty reliable, handle well for an estate and easy to diagnose faults...

You're correct it's just a passive sensor, I have never known of any ecu either factory or after market that uses the knock sensor to maximise performance. It simply detects detonation or pre ignition and the ecu adjusts to compensate on the fly, it's not 'learning' anything.

I'm a mechanic and i would disagree, the main point being reliability. The Prince (PSA) engines fitted to the 56/57 are garbage. Crap timing chains, crap Vanos implementation (premature rear of the Vanos shaft teeth), engine breathing issues, poor quality Valve stem seals that lead to carboned...

Believe it or not that was exactly what he was doing, put new pads in a fazer and didn't see the pcso standing on the corner of the road watching him (wasn't wearing a lid), i don't know whether his biggest mistake was riding the bike that short distance or bothering to stop for the pcso...

Haha , well he's lucky as he only just got a new job and they let him keep it, he's now feeling the pain and cost of public transport
