Yea as you say panel types is another thing to consider, it seems VA and IPS were originally slower response times which resulted in blurring when gaming but from what I can see that appears to have changed over the past year or two with both types having better response times often competing...
Unfortunately none of my friends have one, so I'll just have to take a little risk I think, fingers crossed it'll all be fine I've never felt nauseous from related technologies like VR, 3D etc so hopefully its all Ok for me.
Anyone got any recommendations on monitors that meet the following...
Yea good point, get the Gsync compatible. Keep my options open for any future upgrades, and it's almost certainly going to save a bit of cash, thanks.
I'm thinking I'll go for one that's 34", as I think it'd start to get too big for the distance I am from it.
Nice thats good to know, I'm rather sold on them I think. Now to start searching through the various options available, I'm thinking 3440x1440, 144Hz, Gsync.
It'll also double up for work, software dev here, so as you say it'll be really nice for programming.
Cool thats good to know, kind of matches up with what I was thinking in that some games I might be best using my good 16:9 monitor whereas others the UW curved would really shine. Like Eve where screenspace is particularly important, so many windows to keep open and look at. That's where my...
Hi
I'm currently running a 2 monitor setup, with both been standard flat monitors. I'm now looking to extend my setup to include a 3rd monitor which got my considering whether or not a curved monitor would be good to have.
So a bit of info on my current setup:
1x24" monitor (60Hz), mainly...
Hi
I've had the Siberia 800's for a couple of years now, unfortunately the joint between the headband and ear cup went and snapped last night. So I now find myself needing to replace them as it seems replacement parts are unavailable.
The primary use for the headset is gaming, with a variety...
Nice, I definitely prefer DIY builds myself for similar reasons to you in that you have more options and generally get more for your money. I always go for the DIY choice for my own builds, but having an option of both DIY and pre-built is great since its for someone else.
Thanks for the recommendations, looks like a couple of good builds there.
For the DIY build since that includes Windows, and his original build didn't, that either saves him some money or leaves him £115 to play around with potential upgrades to components.
Hi,
Got a friend looking to buy a budget gaming PC, he's currently been looking at a pre-built PC which would have the following specs:
Mobo: ASUS B450-F Strix
CPU: AMD Ryzen 2600X 4.25 GHz
GPU: ASUS Strix RX 580 OC 8GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2000MHz
Storage 240GB
The above would come...
Completed my first watercooled build recently, it all went smoothly no leaks or issues, largely thanks to advice from members of this forum.
Thought I'd share the results :)
Decided to just go with a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter, not ideal but its highly unlikely to ever use more than one or two of the 4xFront USB 3.0 ports anyway so the main thing is having them connected. I've got plenty additional USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel.
Hi
So I've got the Asus Crosshair VI motherboard, and a Thermaltake Core X9 case. The case has 2xUSB 3.0 (20 pin) cables for the front panel, but the motherboard only has a single 20 pin USB 3.0 header.
What would be the best way to connect the 2 USB 3.0 cables to the motherboard?
There is a...
kk thats good to know, I was unsure if some tubing genuinely doesn't work with some fittings or if it were a marketing technique.
The fittings I've got at the moment are EK-HDC (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-water-blocks-ek-hdc-fitting-12mm-g1-4-nickel-wc-586-ek.html).
I was sort of...
Excellent thanks for confirming that.
Do you happen to know whether its ok to use different brands of hard tubes with EK fittings, for example Bitspower?

The Bitspower page says for use with...
Hi all
I'm about to do my first watercooled system, I've planned out my loop and I'm just looking for confirmation that it looks correct. The components I'm using are as follows:
EK Coolstream 480 PE
1080 Ti Strix OC (Phantex's RGB Waterblock)
EK-Surpremacy EVO AMD/AM4
EK-XRES Revo D5 PWM...
