    Spec me a CCTV System

Doorbell, I did just that. Ring wired in place of the old pushbutton. Transformer inside the old bellbox in place of the bell, there was mains already to the bellbox. Amazon Echos around the place for the "ding-dong, someone at the door". One of the easier jobs tbh

Setting up Home media server again, suggestions?

Use a separate drive for boot. Install Truenas Core, setup a ZFS of the data disks, add a samba share, copy up your media, add a Plex docker (already bundled in TrueNas)

Images of items I have purchased (except trainers)

Did that once. Never again. Had some Valspar paint made up, and it had bacteria in it that stunk like dead mice whenever the sunlight warmed it. Took me weeks to find the source.

Humour me, M.2 into a 2.5" sata fake drive enclosure? Can it be done?

M2 is the connector. The NVMe or SATA bit is the type of drive. I wouldn't bother putting an NVMe drive into a SATA converter. Buy a cheap SATA SSD and job done.

I can't help your issue, but I will say using SADP and Hikvision support, I managed to reinstate all my cameras after losing the passwords. I'd give the following tips; Get your cameras on the same network physically as your laptop / pc. Buy a PoE switch if needed rather than trying to do this...

    Commuter towns to London

To be fair to Guildford, its not that often an occurence. Just a shame it happened when I was in Surreys best restaurant [Positanos in Guildford] and their water was off in the loos! Not sure I can cope with the idea of Diddums moving near me either

Orange (now EE) used to do a mobile booster station for the home for use in poor signal areas and deadzones. Ask your mobile provider what they offer.

Need an emergency mattress that I’ll probably return, who’s easiest?

FFS this is like asking if Fosters, Burton's or MnS are best to rent a suit from for a court appearance :)

Need an emergency mattress that I’ll probably return, who’s easiest?

Sorry what. You're asking which supplier is easiest to bilk for a mattress for a few days for your mates to stay? Buy an inflatable and a battery pump or look up the nearest Premier Inn

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Over the last week I've cut a rectangle out of the plasterboard, removed all the damaged bits, hoovered out the gaps and holes and then assessed. I've now used resin and sleeved bolts, cut some threaded rod and as suggested bolted a piece of wood in position. Expanding foam filler around to...
