I've turned it off. Doesn't really seem necessary. Same as the watch, it works comes on when I look at it, it doesn't need to when I don't.

My eSim turned up after an hour or so, super simple to set up once I had it.

My Pro Max arrived, I really like it. Feels a good improvement on my regular sized 12. I bought the silicone case and I'm reminded why I don't like them. The leather case on my 12 is a lot grippier. I've ordered an eSim from o2. The order is showing as complete, but nothing available on the...

That's kind of what I was thinking. My current M1 Air is about to be picked up by John Lewis to go wherever on the 2-year warranty. Turning up at Apple with my previous laptops was definitely preferable, regardless of costs etc. I'll go for it on the phone. Thanks.

No shipping details yet, still says Preparing. I'm thinking of taking Apple Care on this phone, but not sure which one. It's the first time buying at the higher end of the range. I already have phone insurance via my bank account, but the cost is kind of negligible if it's better to do it via...

Pro Max ordered. Had to wait a few mins after 1pm for it to go through. My first time buying one of the bigger screen models.

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

By 'completely separate', is it possible to achieve this at a software level? I'd like clients on the new network to not have any access to the main network. That said, I'll probably go down the BT modem & USG route, and keep it all Unifi.

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Do I need to be running a USG to have an additional Network, beyond my main one, and give it internet access? At the moment I am just using the BT hub to do routing. I can create Networks, assign them to SSIDs and connect, but they don't get an internet connection . The original Network works as...

Adding wastes to existing soil pipe

Managed to get a section of floor up - horrible stuff! Anyway, there's not as much space in there as I thought. Definitely no space for a manifold, so whatever I do needs to be done on that horizontal run toward the centre of the room. Annoyingly, it sits quite high. The end cap visible is...

Adding wastes to existing soil pipe

I had originally planned to use a manifold, but space in the void, particularly for getting the turn in to the toilet, means I don't have much vertical pipe access. I'll try and get the floor up this weekend and see what space I have to get a run of bosses in.

Adding wastes to existing soil pipe

What's plan B for this? :D I can only follow so far down the stack before it's boxed in behind kitchen cupboards. Am I right that current set up is elbow->boss push fit and boss->endcap solvent welded? Three of, considering I can only use one side, one after the next? Thank you both for your...

Adding wastes to existing soil pipe

Hello, I'm looking to start refitting our ensuite soon so have started checking out what pipework already exists. The soil pipe currently comes up from the ground in an offset downstairs room, turns horizontally to come under the floor of the ensuite (pictured, looking up through the ceiling)...

Anyone get rid of moulded tool cases?

I keep the boxes too. The old style boxes sit nicely on some metal garage shelving I picked up from screwfix. The newer macpac format cases are more awkward to store.

I need a bigger switch than my little Switch US-8-60w but my POE requirements haven't changed, it's still a Cloud Key and two access points. Is it a bad idea to buy a bigger non-POE switch (significantly cheaper, like a US-24) and plug my existing switch in to it for the POE output?

*** The official 2020 MacBook Air/13" MacBook Pro thread (it has the M1 chip and everything!) ***

I've only ever had to use AC once, back on a 2011 MBP that needed the main board replacing. Laptops etc are, as you say, covered by the home insurance for accidental damage. Which is a good thing to have. Annoyingly, John Lewis and their 2-year warranty are out of stock. I think I'll skip AC...

*** The official 2020 MacBook Air/13" MacBook Pro thread (it has the M1 chip and everything!) ***

I'm pretty sold on replacing my 2015 MBP with a base model Air. My use case has changed to where a smaller, lighter laptop would be beneficial. I can get the education discount so it comes out at £900, but I hadn't realised AppleCare doesn't come with education purchases any more, and I'm less...

    BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Do you know what happens in that instance? We diverted the yesterday's evening walk to find the cabinet, and it's an old one on side of the road, and a new looking FTTC cabinet on the other side. Our activation date on the order has now moved to today, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

    BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

We have recently moved house, moving our BT FTTC package with us, but having passed the activation date we still have no broadband, and the only real info I've been given is someone will phone me at the end of this month. They've sent a 4g mini hub, but the 4g signal isn't great so it looks like...

    Removals Quote

We have just moved from a reasonably big 3 bed house (and 8x12ft shed) to a house a mile across the village. We paid £1600 for a local removal company, which was a 7.5 tonne lorry and 3 people. We packed the boxes, they did the moving and handled the big items and furniture. This was the most...
