    ** Official Returnal Thread **

Some suggestions that might help those struggling with the difficulty: Turn on the always run option, staying mobile is key to not taking damage Dodge towards/through projectiles unless they are purple Use cover when dealing with turrets, rockets or the evil red arrows Grind weapon traits...

    ** Official Returnal Thread **

Grind some weapon traits, nearly all of the guns are viable and most end up feeling a touch overpowered once you get 3-4 decent traits. Only one I can't get on with is the shotgun, it's okay with the narrow spread trait but pretty useless otherwise. Hallowseeker and pylon are both very good...

    ***Outriders Console Edition Thread***

Put in about 2 hours but it's just not my cup of tea at all, the story and voice-acting are pretty weak and it's just so bland/generic in terms of gameplay, enemy AI, environments, etc. I hadn't realised it was coming to Game Pass otherwise I wasn't planning on playing it but definitely glad I...

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

Best advice I can give - You will never ever regret time you spend with your kid/s so whenever the opportunity is there take it. At some point you will have changed your last nappy, thrown out the last dummy, read your last bedtime story, you won't even realise it at the time so be present as...

    PlayStation VR / VR2

Beat Saber and Pistol Whip are both fantastic and super easy for anyone to pick up and don't tend to cause nausea so great if you have friends over. Headmaster is in the same category as mentioned above. Statik is also great if you love puzzle games.

    Nioh 2

It's not that is can be skipped, it's supposed to be skipped. It's way way above your starting level so only top tier players would have a chance.

    Nioh 2

Which boss was that? There's an early demon that you're not supposed to be able to take down, you're meant to avoid him :D It's not an easy game but it's quite a bit gentler than Sekiro so might be worth another try.

The Medium - Xbox series X/S and PC exclusive

I thought it was alright, if I'd paid full price for it I'd have likely felt different but for "free" it was an interesting (if predictable) story and I enjoyed the split screen mechanic if only because it was something new. The controls were really clunky and graphics aside, a lot of the rest...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Just got to the point of no return, level 41 (hit 50 street cred ages ago) and most of the remaining quests are just buying cars which I've not really bothered with since the driving is so underwhelming. There have been some great side quests; I wish the BD stuff was used a bit more as it's one...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Put in about 50 hours, the AI really is atrociously bad but the quests and characters are written well enough that it's still enjoyable. I've run into an increasing number of bugs that require a reload or reset, stuff like onscreen alerts not clearing, being unable to run/jump or abilities not...

    Games you're playing, and games...

Same for me, the floaty imprecise jumping combined with the isometric view just frustrated me no end. I loved the art style but the game was nothing special at all, no idea why so many people liked it so much but each to their own :)

PS5 or Series X? Because it hasn't been asked before...

PS5 feels more next gen for me but that's 90% due to the controller and 10% due to the cleaner/crisper UI. That said, I'd lean towards XSX purely for Game Pass as the value is ridiculous. Right now, neither of them is essential buying particularly if you already have a PS4 Pro or X1X, if you...

    Assassin's Creed - Valhalla

Another tip - the explosive/fire arrow ability can set fire to those annoying barriers that otherwise need the oil jars.

    Assassin's Creed - Valhalla

The burning/poison was borderline broken in Odyssey too from memory, in this one it seems less deadly to both Eivor and enemies but yes s/he does catch fire like they're made of kindling :D

    Assassin's Creed - Valhalla

Hunting down the order members was one of my favourite bits, it's a shame that it didn't really feel fully integrated into the story in the same way as Odyssey/Origins. At times it felt like they'd packed in too many competing stories and they didn't always mesh together that well.

    Assassin's Creed - Valhalla

For armour upgrades, you're best bet is just to buy the materials from the vendors as money is rarely a problem in the game (mostly because there's little worth buying unless you love the cosmetic stuff).

    Cyberpunk 2077

I've had two crashes back to the dashboard and two more times where performance dropped drastically and restarting the game resolved it. Put about 10 hours in, planning to get a refund, I might pick it up again in 12 months once the missing stuff (AI, decent inventory system, etc) is added and...

    Cyberpunk 2077

On XSX it plays and looks pretty decent but so much stuff seems to be broken/missing/badly designed. I'm not going to return my copy but I don't see much point carrying on (I've just done Act 1) as I'd rather wait until things are fixed and have a better experience. There are enough other games...

    Assassin's Creed - Valhalla

Valhalla is odd in terms of what is canon, it lets you pick male/female (or let the game switch for you) but there are certain moments where the dialog/cutscenes are female-only. Sadly the female Eivor VA isn't that good so I went with male this time despite preferring Kassandra by a mile in...

The Last of Us Part II

Yup, that was my main struggle/complaint too, the game is a masterpiece but it's so unrelentingly depressing (and violent) that it's a hard game to "enjoy". The early events cast a long shadow but the game never really tries to get out of them and instead you just get a near-constant barrage of...
