My Ram only boots at 6200mhz even with relaxed timings. I either need some better ram or I'm doing something wrong somewhere :(

Right little update..... I got hold of a z790 and tried it with my 12700k and everything is working great. I've repurchased an 14900k from OCUK which I'm hoping will work this time. My old z690 is still in rma which ill sell the replacement once its all sorted out. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Nothing on the bottom of the cpu and I’m using NT-H2 paste. I’ve read a few threads on Reddit and apparently there is some later bios from Asus which are bricking boards. Hopefully the new board works. I’ve sent the old motherboard off for rma this afternoon so it will be interesting to see...

I’ve got this coming tomorrow. Asus ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI, Intel Z790 Will try the 12700k first just in case it needs a bios update for the 14900k.

I’ve just tried it with both 8 pins connected with both cpus and still nothing at all turns on, just rgb.

The extra 8 pin isn’t needed, only when overclocking. I think the only option is to rma the motherboard and see what they say. I did purchase it in 2021 tho, hopefully they can sort something out (not OCUK). I’ve got a z790 coming tomorrow so I can at least test the cpus and go from there...

I cleared the cmos via the button on back of board.

Well the board worked after I flashed it, as I ran some cinebench before I removed the old cpu so I could compare as you do. Unplugged everything cable wise and installed the new cpu as I’ve done many times before. Went to boot up after installing and nothing happened.

Well my 12700k doesn’t boot in it either so I can’t only think it’s the board. I might ask OCUK about swapping it or something, see what they say.

Yup tried about 8 times. Yup flashes 3 times then flashes for a good 4-6 mins. I’m using a Corsair 850x but have tried with a rog 1000w as well. Everything lights up except ram and error leds. Io, keyboard, mouse all light up.
