So many hilarious kills over the years... favourite game for it has to be Quake 1 with Killer Quake Pack, the blood draining spike (picture your enemy running around weaponless, arms missing, blood spurting out each side of him) Funny stuff.

I second the above, like you I'm using a 120Hz monitor and am sensitive to fps drop / input lag. My spec is in my sig and even on a modest "High" setting with occlusion effects disabled it's still not a *solid* 120fps. On large 64 player maps it dips to 60ish (shock horror) Waiting for whatever...

Curious to see a resolution to this as my HTPC (Acer Revo D3610) has randomly done the same - no longer outputting audio through HDMI (onboard nVidia ION). It used to work and I swear I changed nothing!

All of the above said, if it was my money I'd wait for the 7000 series dual GPU card given the range has already been announced / is just around the corner.

Crossfire itself doesn't present many issues - any new, high-end game where you would need it has the support (Skyrim, BF3, etc). Older games or others that don't have support (in my experience, TrackMania, Quake3 IIRC) don't need crossfire as 1 GPU is more than powerful enough on a card like...

My only comment on this discussion is that I'm sickened / outraged (OK slight exaggeration, but I'm certainly irked) that AMD's 3D gaming isn't supported on the ONE card that has the horsepower to run it... their top of the range 6990. You'd think paying almost £600 you'd get at least the same...

If you saw a game running at 120fps locked on a 120Hz display, you'd "see" the point, trust me ;)

Each to their own, but I'm shooting for lows of 120fps given I'm using a 120Hz monitor.

I didn't say Ultra, I said 1080p. I've turned off most reflections, and no AA. It averages at 150fps, bouncing between 100 and 230 in places.

Not sure why people are saying Skyrim doesn't like these, I'm using them with CAP2 and Skyrim is gorgeous, solid 150fps+ at 1080p (GPU utilisation high across both GPUs)
