Pets4Homes advert went live last night. My Wife has a bet that I bin my phone by Friday  Grabbed a couple of nicer photos of Rubble & Skye (the two we've had interest shown by genuine families): And a quick video of the little noisemakers (excuse the heavy breathing - just getting...

    New Study/Den

So the Pets4Homes advert went live last night and my phone has been non-stop. Whenever I list the Boss's kittens, I put *all* the information they need, so as to reduce the amount of details we have to give in a phonecall/videocall. It means we can spend more time talking about the...

It's the hardest thing to do, but we do it out of absolute love and affection, when you know that not doing it only leads to more pain and suffering. Last weekend's scare with Jaxx was a shock and hit home just how unprepared we are as a family, if the worst were to happen. Our autistic son...

    Help writing complaint letter

Agree with dlockers. FYI: if they're stubborn about not moving on the settlement amount, be prepared to put the sum to one side (savings/specified pot if you have a Starling or Monzo account). The next move is to wait for their legal action. If you can show the mediator/judge that non-payment...

    Help writing complaint letter

Hoping you've lowered the £XXXX figure to allow them a slight amount of negotiation (so as to show willingness to compromise), but also that you've adequately priced your lost time in the equation... Every hour wasted dealing with their mess-up is an hour you could have been working/doing...

    New Study/Den

Today we tried some scrambled egg, as we start to gently wean the pups away from Poppy and onto raw/kibble. I didn't get to take photos at the time (emergency surgery for my son's cat), but my wife said Everest & Rubble absolutely demolished the plate, getting it everywhere. Poppy had fun...

    Power bank with correct output

Can recommend power banks by Anker, Ugreen, Iniu & Aukey. Check reviews for true output & capacity and avoid ones with built-in cables as they don't last well. Currently have a 40Ah Aukey, with 2x USB-A & USB-C, with a 60W output. It's strong enough to power the Nintendo Switch in docked mode...

Her cues are a combination of all the signals I give off: respiratory & heart rate, tone of voice, tension in my body - but tiny changes that occur before I even realise I'm getting to boiling point. She'll jump up and put paws on my legs, or straight onto my lap, then lean in. I then excuse...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Appreciate this is a home solar thread, but can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable unit for my Dad's allotment? He has a 10'x7' shed with a south facing roof. Panels could be permanently mounted, to charge something like a Jackery unit. Main use would be LED lighting & music (he...

Jaxx is home! Tired, hungry and sore, but very keen to inspect his bedroom and check out his view from the bed. Back to vets on Tuesday for a follow-up and a copy of the bill: /kermit_spreading.jpg

Vet just called to say Jaxx can come home this evening, once his catheter is removed. I'm glad I held off telling my son this morning - will pop out and get him about 11pm, then quietly take him up to my son's room. We've spent today cleaning out his enclosure (it's like a tall, multi-level...

That's "Skye" - and we have "Everest" (largest female, white chest) "Rubble" (solid red male) and little "Liberty" - two guesses what our 7 year Old's favourite cartoon is... Absolutely no problem explaining how Poppy assists me: Poppy is trained to alert me before my stress levels get high...

Thank you - he's brilliant. Before we got Jaxx, either my wife or I would have to lay on our son's bed until he fell asleep, which could take hours. The day we brought Jaxx home, he ran straight under Elliott's bed, then crept out and onto the bed with him. Elliott begged us to let him stay, so...

Just got home after taking my son to see Jaxx - heavily medicated, but wanted a cuddle. Proud of my boy for putting Jaxx back in the crate when he'd clearly had enough. Urine starting to clear of blood, but still waiting on kidney results. He's getting the best care, so fingers crossed for a...

It's been decided - the collective term for Cockapoo puppies is a "Snuggle".

Appreciate you both. I had a phonecall at 1am to say he was out of surgery and the catheter was in place, but his bladder was extremely inflamed and filled with blood. His kidney function results are worrying, so they can't give him an antiinflammatory until they start flushing out the toxins...

So, this post office palaver then

Don't be so quick to give Gov. the benefit of the doubt: Bishop James Jones' Hillsborough Inquiry findings ("The patronising disposition of unaccountable power") recommended a Statutory Duty of Candour (the Hillsborough Law) be passed, which would make it a criminal offence for a public servant...

Had to take my son's cat Jaxx to the out of hours vet tonight, as my wife suspected a bladder infection. Vet agrees it's bladder/Urinary tract blockage, so he's been taken straight in for surgery. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly.
