I bought a 7900 xtx on release day. Got it and had the overheating issues. Sent it back on RMA and it was lost in the post. Got my money back but nothing in stock soo ive gone down the 4080 FE. I wanted AMD to do well but they have lost a customer.

I'm a amd fan. Would you go the new series with ddr5? 32 gig of ram 2 tb nvme

Thanks, Just been on 3dmarks website. Why is port royal CPU bottle necked when it only uses the GPU? When the 4080 isn't?

Morning all I've been doing a little bit of research my 3800x and my old 3080 used to get Time spy 16315 port royal 11906. The new 7900 xtx which has been RMA'ed (heat issues lying horizontal)time spy 10927 port royal 10577. I noticed that the 7900 xtx was running max at 80% and the CPU at 20%...

Sorry i'm probably boring people but i would love to get to the bottom of this. Why in port royal my GPU doesnt go above 80%. Is my 3800x bottle necking it at 1440p? The CPU load is around 20%...

So DPD failed to pick it up the third day in a row so ive decided to do more testing: Case lying down: Case up right Oh dear. Still perform really bad either way the card sits

Loads of noise now regarding this over heating issue. People saying to see if putting the case on its side so the card is vertical will fix the issue.... I might give this a go tomorrow as its boxed up ready for RMA. Thing is if the temps go down will that improve the speed of the card?

GPU load isnt touching 99%
