Yeah I didn't bother with any summon post Phoenix either, maybe they help with hard mode but they're too wishy washy to use properly. Prefer the old game in that respect, if you've got the MP, you use it.

Objectively I'm inclined to agree but I think now I've finished both, I'll probably return more to Remake than Rebirth going forward. Outside of combat they're quite different experiences IMO. Remake came out at the right time in my life as well, which I think helps its case.

Luckily for me I'm only playing Rebirth at the moment so no real adjustment is necessary, 99.9% of the time I'm playing it doesn't even register it's 30fps. Benefits of mostly being a console gamer through the 90s :)

Think I did the demo wrong haha. Basically took me less an hour, when I heard it could be like 5 hours if you wanted it to be. The graphics aren't jarring like a lot of the internet would lead you to believe, but I can see where they're coming from, I think I'll knock it over to graphics mode...
