    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

So after all that you got a chicken? ;) Same thing today with me. From what you describe I went the same way as you. Through a misty area full of ghosts, only I was doing in the dark. Then through an abandoned fort that had ballistas on turrets. A dragon was fighting an Ogre and I used...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Still getting to grips with the mechanics of this but the sense of achievement just getting back from a trek between two towns is immense. Died a few times and had no more camping packs, so had a much diminished health bar getting back to an inn. I do dislike the fact you have to keep changing...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

I got the 4080 used to replace my 3080. The 7900 XT (not XTX) is in my son’s PC and I bought it to replace a 6700 XT. So hindsight tells me that even at £900 used a 4080 is massively overpriced IMHO.

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

The problem is for RT to really shine even the 4090 is not enough and they are still lol pounds. Are we really trying to say a 12GB 4070 Ti at almost £600 is a great deal? Crowing over how good those barely even mid range GPUs are priced now? It is barely faster than a 3080 that was £640 over...

When are you going fully electric?

I mean as a small cluster unit rather than an entire assembly. It would still be expensive but not £2400 like with the I-Pace

When are you going fully electric?

There’s no technical reason the headlight cluster can’t have replaceable LEDs. It’s a cost saving measure.

When are you going fully electric?

Yes and I tend to agree but not everyone does. Night vision varies by individual and they swear an LED vastly improves things.

When are you going fully electric?

You’ve contradicted yourself. How can they be both brighter than they need to be, and give no improved visibility? Or are you trying to argue that they go beyond what is required to see effectively at night? Seems like a weak argument because good visibility is vital. Halogen lights on an...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Just to get back on topic of the actual gameplay. I’m loving the nuances of the combat now and particularly like that my archer is a viable choice. The total random nature of the open world is so refreshing. Following a path and got ambushed by some goblins. During the fight a Griffen swoops...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Agreed on this. I had pre-ordered cheaper through CD-Keys and was at work when I read that fast travel, as well as character and class changes were all behind a micro-transaction system that required “real” money. I was not happy and felt gutted. Yet a quick google showed me this was nothing...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Micro transactions for SP games have been a thing for almost 20 years. Armour for horses in Elder Scrolls ringing any bells? The same argument was made that this would ruin gaming “unless we made a stand”. Yet here we are almost 20 years later and MTX locking out gameplay features is still...

The RX 7900 GRE as of 20/03/2024 - Not such a flawed product?

Yep some good results there. I have a 7900 XT pulse and was getting 12% - 15% actual game performance increase through undervolting and tweaking. Though I ended up undervolting and going for lower power consumption at just over stock performance. The 7900 series are genuinely good GPUs at...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Yeah it took me a few seconds of Googling to find the micro transactions were not limiting gameplay. It also took me a few minutes of playing to find I could change my character type easily with no need to spend real money. Or that the save system and lack of ability to restart a new game were...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

I have no issues just playing the game and the save system is designed to give a sense of loss when you die. This is no different to some games not offering a quick save/load option and forcing you back to the last checkpoint/bonfire/site of grace. There really are some delusional gamers out...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

Same here. The big town is slow but out in the open world where the combat takes place it’s keeping at high 80ish FPS with DLSS quality. Even native keeps about 60 FPS. With a VRR monitor its is more than playable and at time I am impressed with the level of world detail. Happy to report...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

The video is showing as private sorry. I do agree that SSR bug is quite jarring. It’s going to be personal preference if it is enough to make a player shelve a game of course.

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

Nope, I am not attacking RT or saying RT prevents such effects. I’m pointing out that even the best RT games can take shortcuts and have immersion breaking graphical issues. RT does not a great game make and will not guarantee graphical perfection. I love Watchdogs legion despite those glass...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

I’ve been playing Dragons Dogma 2 and marvelling at the dated graphics and poor water reflection. It all looked so dated at one point I had to check I hadn’t bought the original 2012 version by mistake. Then there are times I actually find a spot it looks very pretty and I am impressed by the...

    *** Dragon's Dogma 2 ***

I’m enjoying the gameplay and open world nature. I can overlook the average graphics and slightly janky combat. It just shows that many times for me games end up more than the sum of their parts. I’m getting a very Gothic vibe from it.
