I'd be interested to know if G-Sync actually works over USB-C, thinking of getting a similar laptop but I thought you'd need to connect to the mini DisplayPort to get G-Sync because that's connected to the Nvidia GPU
Hi, I'm thinking about getting a gaming laptop and noticed some of them have a mini displayport e.g. this one - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/gigabyte-aorus-17h-nvidia-rtx-4080-16gb-17.3-fhd-360hz-i7-13700h-gaming-lap-lt-0es-gi.html
I'd like to know if something like this could be connected to...
Thanks for the reply. When you say picture quality is better, in what way?
I thought if it's just sending the video data down the HDMI cable there would be no difference, or are you saying the 820 has better picture enhancement features or upscaling?
Hi all, I'm looking for a 4K Blu-ray player after finding out that the PS5 is quite limited as a Blu-ray player and doesn't support Dolby Vision.
My setup is:
LG 65QNED866QA
Denon AVR-X2800H DAB
Wharfedale DX2 5.1.2
I found some older threads where the Panasonic DP-UB820EB was recommended, but...
Good point about losing some dB from reflecting.
I was going to try this with a spare pair of speakers from my Logitech Z906, so at least I can try it without spending anything.
Update on this, in the end I went with a LG 65QNED866QA and am very happy with it. I'm sure a (more expensive) OLED would give a better overall picture but this TV looks great to me and I'm glad that I don't have to think about burn in.
I hadn't heard about mini LEDs loosing brightness so hope...
Hi, I recently bought a Wharfedale DX2 5.1 system and a Denon AVR-X2800H receiver and am looking to upgrade this to 5.1.2 for Atmos. I want to do this by attaching upward firing speakers to either the front or surround speakers, but the only speakers of this type that I've found are much bigger...
That's a good point about the heat sync, I thought it was only to allow higher peak brightness than the C2 but it makes sense that it would reduce the chance of burn in too.
I'm also starting to look at other brands to see if it's worth looking at anything else except LG, interesting video here...
I was in the same boat being worried about burn in and looking for a 65" TV, but it seems that burn-in isn't a problem any more and OLED is better in every way (except peak brightness).
I'm looking into this more and pretty much convinced that OLED is what I want if I don't want to compromise on picture quality. So the next question is which OLED TV?
I think 65" is about the right size for my living room, and going to the next size up adds at least a grand to the cost anyway...
Hi all,
I'm looking for a new TV but not sure if I should go for OLED or something else like mini-LED. Is OLED better for gaming and have any of you with OLED TVs suffered burn-in, or is that not a problem with new TVs?
Is there a particular TV that anyone would recommend? I'm looking for 4K...
Edit - this is actually from a year ago, maybe this monitor was cancelled.
Looks like we might have a ROG monitor coming soon with all of these features - PG32UQXE https://rog.asus.com/articles/gaming-monitors/rog-swift-pg32uqxe/
I can't see any info about the HDMI bandwidth but will wait and...
It is tempting and I'm sure the picture quality would be amazing, but with it being only G-Sync compatible that would be a problem at lower framerates.
Thanks for the advice. It seems like everything available at the moment is a compromise - you either get G-Sync Ultimate with HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1 but only G-Sync compatible (minimum 48 fps).
I think I'll wait and see what else comes out this year :)
I was thinking around 27" to 32" and not sure on the budget, might wait to see what else becomes available.
Maybe something like this, and there are quite a few around the same price -...
Hi all, I'm looking for a new monitor to use for PC gaming and also PS5, but not sure if there is an ideal monitor for this which fully supports all features including G-Sync and HDMI 2.1.
Does anyone have any recommendations, and have any of you had any success using a monitor with a PS5 using...
I don't think I have any control over how they do things like that, I just hope they install it correctly.
Are those phone sockets as in landline phone? I thought that was a different kind of connection to ethernet.
