    OCUK founder Spie passes away

I very rarely visit this site not being in the UK any longer and hadn't been into GD in a very long time. It's many years since I had last seen him in person and even longer since I was at his wedding to C. Condolences all.

Finally got out on my newly built Cervelo S3 today after buying the frame back in February. The weather was finally nice enough versus riding my old road bike. A quick 35miles/3500ft vert to give it a test, no complaints so far. I would have liked to have done further, but I'd done...

    Haute Route?

Not sure what the Icarus documentary is, worth watching? I only found out about it from a GCN video on YouTube. Logistics of getting there and home would be a pain for the Alpes/Pyrenees for me but definitely worth it...

    Haute Route?

Anyone ever done one of the Haute Route trips? Alps or Pyrenees look tempting, but difficult logistics getting there for me. https://www.hauteroute.org/

I'd been waiting to see what it was going to be like, but I've just bought a new etap HRD wifli flat mount 22 speed groupo for about 1100 quid plus red crankset for £230 and I'm happy with that decision after seeing the new release. It would have cost an awful lot more without giving many...

Check the ST, HT angles and ETT on your various bikes. If the angles are all 73deg the ETT is what I use to compare. I'm 6'2" riding a "55cm" frame, but it's a compact geo which has a 570mm ETT, which makes it roughly a 58 in general sizing. I think the frame I just bought has a 54cm seat...

Sounds like new 12 speed SRAM road groupo stuff will be announced Wednesday. I think I'm happy with what I'm planning for my build sticking with 11, as I'm sure the premium for the new stuff will be huge.

Yay, Cervelo S3 Disc frame turned up and it's gorgeous. Still trying to decide between electronic or cable SRAM Red groupo and on the replacement wheels whether to go for Chinese carbon rims on 240's or a set of DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT 48's.
