Finally got myself a proper setup if i do say so myself. My old set up was pretty lame to say the least. Ive had the MBP since September 2012 but the monitor, keyboard, Trackpad and desk arrived over the last few days.

A few new bits and bobs for me. So happy with the final outcome - Exactly how i imagined it to be. Clean & simple!! (IMO) Mini trunking and cable ties are my best friends when it comes to keeping things tidy.

IIRC it does have SATA 3. When i purchased my MBP 2012 (MID) last year i swapped out the HDD straight away. initial boot was around 25 seconds or so. after installing the SSD its now under 9 seconds. In regards to the OP, I would also recommend Samsung SSD's. Not sure what the EVO is like...
