    Another oddity with my 7900xtx/system.

What happens if you put your card in PCIe 3.0 mode in the BIOs? Wouldn't surprise me if it was general AMD AM4 CPU/chipset and PCIe 4 issues, similar to the USB dropout issues which were never 100% solved. Had a lot of grief on various boards with NVMe drives disappearing, USBs randomly...

Any good in having separate drives for OS and storage?

Would always have a separate OS drive or at least partition.

    What's your CPU upgrade cycle?

I was an impulsive upgrader, the itch came out of nowhere and before I know it the latest and greatest PC component is on the way. My 12700K is still going well though. There isn't really a need to upgrade CPUs often and these days I get more enjoyment out of keeping them for longer than...

    14th Gen "Raptor Lake Refresh"

I'm guessing we are not really expecting any efficiently improvements? Hopefully undervolting is worth while. Have a 12700K which I have toyed with the idea of swapping but I undervolted, kept the power limit to 180W and cooled with a Noctua U12s. Not really interested in upping the power...

How did you manage to solve this? Was also frustrated about that :)

    Faulty Quest 3's

Bright green pixels for me on the right lens. Also just finding the software experience rather buggy. I'm guessing it will be improved overtime but it's pretty frustrating to use sometimes. Once it refused to charge as well until I rebooted and another time kept disconnecting from PC until...

Just saw today that my Quest 3 has a green stuck pixel in the right eye

    Cheap Reliable 1tb NVME

I'd get the SN570/580 personally. I'd avoid QLC if the primary purpose is caching especially considering TLC drives like the SN570 are similarly priced.

    Quest 3 owners etc

The problem for game developers is that, while a 512GB option is available, many will have a 128GB Quest 2/3. Increasing file sizes will run the risk of excluding users so there is an incentive to keep install sizes as light as possible. Personally I got the 128GB. I'm not 100% confident in the...

    Quest 3 preview

It's a shame the base model is not 256GB. Spent a while debating between 128/512GB but in the end I just can't stomach paying £140 more for storage. Generally I prefer to buy most games on steam so I'm not locked into the oculus ecosystem. Did preorder last night on meta but they cancelled it...

Samsung Targets Gamers With 3 Extremely Fast 990 Pro NVMe SSDs

Does anyone else with Samsung NVMe drives have the problem where they just don't calculate the power on hours accurately? I've had several different models over the years on different platforms but they just never seem to accurately record it whereas it's fine on other brands and even Samsung...

The Radeon RX 6800 (XT) Owners Thread.

Curve optimizer is disabled and I even disable PBO. This morning I changed Power Supply Idle Control to typical and it was super promising, seemed the longest I went without a idle reboot and then one just hit me a few minutes ago :( Asus have released a new BIOs today with AGESA 1.2.0.0 which I...

The Radeon RX 6800 (XT) Owners Thread.

I've been having random reboots ever since installing the RX 6800 Nitro however I'm on a X470 crosshair which is only PCIe 3. Yesterday it rebooted four times at idle. I have it paired with a 5900X which ran perfectly with my old Nvidia card and at load theres no problems at all. The most...

NEW MSI B550 UNIFY better than X570 UNIFY??

Funnily stress tests kept mine quiet! Idle was it's worst and some types of loads it just did not agree with. It was so loud in certain games, could even hear it over headphones. I've gone back to my old X470 Crosshair now and changing motherboards was just such a hassle that I've asked for a...

NEW MSI B550 UNIFY better than X570 UNIFY??

Had to send my B550 unify back because of this as well, the whine from the VRMs was awful. A day later I took it out of my PC and boxed it up for a return. The most annoying thing was the constant shift in pitch/volume as you used the PC and even whined along as you moved the mouse.

    AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

    AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Why are we cherry picking boards? Also at a £110 non sale price, which I'm sure you saw, is the Z370 Asrock equivalent. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asrock-z370-pro4-intel-z370-socket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-15p-ak.html Then why, when specifically comparing RRP of boards, did you...

Heatsink and/or fan for M.2 drive - worth it?

What software are you using to monitor the temps? The Samsung drives have a temperature sensor on both the controller and NAND. HWInfo can read both whereas tools like CrystalDiskInfo only read the NAND temperature. I have put a heatsink (Gelid Subzero M.2) on my 970 as it was only a few pounds...

Slow read/write Samsung 970 evo nvme

You would need to upgrade your CPU to at least an Intel Skylake or AMD Ryzen. Unfortunately Intel Haswell chipsets don't have enough lanes.

Slow read/write Samsung 970 evo nvme

Z97 chipset boards only have 2 PCIe lanes, to run a 970 EVO at full speed you need 4 PCIe 3.0 lanes. You might be able to get better performance if you get an adapter and install it in the second x16 slot but it will reduce the GPU to x8 lanes instead of x16.
