As mentioned before, I'm sure logic doesn't play the biggest part in this kind of thing. Also, there could well be a big loss of blood, that doesn't help straight thinking

I'm pretty sure you are underestimating how much someone might freak out if this happened to them

I didn't say it had died because of the birth, just that it was thought to be the cause. No reason to go accusing someone of murder when you don't really know the facts

Because it's not so easy to think logically when you've just had your baby die on you? Also, see various example above.
