Yeah, I'd rather go for 2x16GB, but there's no reasonably priced 3600 CL16 kits available that I can find anywhere - they're all 250 quid+, which just seems insane to me. I guess I could just drop to 3600CL18 and hope I get something which will do CL16.

The Alienware is probably the same as my Dell, I guess. However, it's a last gen panel. To get the very best performance I'll have to just get used to the coating :(

I'm tempted to try removing it, have seen some posts on some forums of people soaking it with distilled water until it peels off. Obviously lose the warranty and have to take a huge amount more care with it but they look incredible.

I don't think the pixel density on 27" 1080p screens is low enough for me, so that rules those out. The coating on my Dell s2716dg is fine, don't really understand why all these screens have such thick coatings.. who is using gaming monitors out in the sun?

You can just buy a new microswitch from various online marketplaces and solder it in. It's a really simple job tbh. I think the switches are Omron d2fc-f-7n, get the 20 million click versions if you can.

I emailed a few days ago and they've still got the older stock so hopefully the new version will be in soon. If anyone knows when it'll be, I'd love to know.

As far as I know it's a tighter braid and is far more like a paracord: https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/ascended-cable The older one was more like a shoelace.
