I have had both since launch, imo the 3080ti is definitely better on the really demanding games at 4k 120hz max settings. Just depends what price you can get one for. It's probably worth an extra £200 over the 3080 for the extra ray tracing cores and vram.

3060ti is way faster than a 1080, probably more than twice as fast.

Yeah 3080ti is a terrible price at £1050 but still I would rather save the £350 over the 3090 because I don't need 24gb ram. Normally I wouldn't get such an expensive card but I got a 3080 on release for £689 then used it for 6 months and sold it for £1400 cash. I am well happy with my 3080ti.

The 3080ti feels great to hold but I think for £1050 it should have come with the 3090 cooler.

Sometimes take a couple of hours, keep checking your emails for updates, the website is slow to update especially if you used finance.

The 3080 kicks out loads more heat than a 1070. I done a similar upgrade 1080 to 3080 and I did notice a ton of extra heat coming out of the pc. I had to increase the air flow in my case, these 3080's need good air flow to stay cool and quiet.

My guess is the onboard only does 4k30hz and they want 4k 120hz. 4k 30 is nasty for desktop really laggy.

I read it was mainly the evga 3090s that were breaking but still it has put me off trying new world on my brand new 3080ti.

I think it increases fan speed but now that you ask I'm not 100% sure.

It completely depends what game and frame rate you are playing at. I can play overwatch at 4k 120hz at 40c but you play something like cyberpunk or red dead maxed out at 4k 120hz for a few hours they are going to start pumping out serious heat. It helps to turn case fans up a bit to keep them...

You need telegram app on your phone. Fe partalert. If you read the founders edition thread there is plenty of instructions on how to get one. Took me 4 days after using telegram to get my 3080ti. They drop once a week so as long as you have your phone on you when it texts you can buy one.

Just spend a little bit more and get the 3060ti founders for £369 and overclock it. Massive performance for the money.

I don't think they are making many 3080 cards, much bigger margin for nvidia to use the same card and sell it as 3080ti.
