Need to transfer 3.47TB, do I Copy and Paste or clone?

I went with the Samsung 870 QVO 8TB. You want to consider the pcie nvme interface if it is for gaming.

Please recommend me a data backup solution

Thanks @AthlonXP1800 , I shall take a look at those :) I must admit though I might invest in the EaseUS lifetime license. I already own their data recovery software which I have used and do like to use if it is required.

Please recommend me a data backup solution

Requirements: I do a monthly clone of my data drive as a just-in-case of hdd failure, fire etc. Use to use Macrium Reflect but as that is no longer free; nor do they offer a lifetime license; I'd like an alternate option. Looked at the following so far: Clonezilla - I really dislike this...

I'd highly recommend bitwarden for a free one. Never had any issues.

Need to transfer 3.47TB, do I Copy and Paste or clone?

Many thanks for all your replies. I used Macrium Reflect Free to clone the drive as I already was familiar with the software. It only took 6 hours to clone it :-o, was expecting much longer.

Need to transfer 3.47TB, do I Copy and Paste or clone?

Hi all, I need to transfer 3.47TB of data from a mechanical 8TB to a 8TB SSD. Should I ... (a) copy and paste all the data via windows file explorer (b) copy and paste small amounts at a time using the latter ... or ... (c) Use something like macrium reflect to clone the drive? Thank you in...

Need advice re 8TB media drive SSD y/n?

Hi all, I currently have a media drive (8TB WD Gold) which I write DVDs / blu rays to (rarely - every 6 months I'd say). I hate that it is a spinning drive. I'm contemplating upgrading it to an SSD. Either a Samsung 8TB 870 QVO or the Kingston DC450R TLC. As I do not write to it often, does...

Wait for new models in new year or buy now?

No issues with performance on the S5 Plus - well minus initially turning on wifi and getting a ton of YouTube notifications (wish Google would sync the notifications between devices or bring back email notifications).

Wait for new models in new year or buy now?

Apple is a no go for me. I dislike their ethics. I understand re the prices being high when they are released and accept that. I do plan on keeping this new phone for roughly the same amount of time - 4-5 years? Unsure on the latter.

Wait for new models in new year or buy now?

Budget is no real issue. Data wise - Hardly use above 300mb in a month. I buy the phones out-right. I do not go for contracted phones. Sim free only. Though because I use a smartphone only for general web browsing, email on the go, occasional video and digital radio; I cannot justify having a...

Wait for new models in new year or buy now?

Hi all, I need some advice as I'm in a pickle and struggling to make a decision. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus (old I know). I have been researching new models to upgrade to and my options have come down to the following: Xiaomi Mi 10 5G / PRO 5G (though pro is not in stock...

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Hi all, Thought I'd provide an update on this. Apologies for not seeing your replies before - no email of responses for some reason . UPDATE: I've had Corsair do an RMA on the m.2 drive. The replacement m.2 is not making any noise as recorded above. They could not clarify (as of...

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Thought I'd give a slight update. Corsair are in contact. They asked me to record the noise. So I did. I'll leave it here for now if you want to have a listen - you may need to increase sound volume to hear the noise 6 seconds is when it starts (it may get deleted in the future). I'll keep...

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Yeah, he had a family member pass away. Not much of a fan of Linus, nothing but cash trucks sent by Intel reversing up to his warehouse lol. I've submitted a Corsair ticket this morning so will certainly keep apprised on what they report back.

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Oh, don't get me wrong, Tiny Tom (OC3D TV on YouTube) did a fantastic review of these MP510 drives. He compared them to the Samsung drives and they were my choice for the price after seeing his review :)

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Well a google search found others are having similar sounds to me. Again, when the drive is only under extreme heavy load. Because it is not doing it all the time I am not convinced it is faulty - no BSOD or any faults or crashes suddenly. That and the inital check disk, error checking and hard...

Corsair MP510 nvme m.2 ssd high pitch noise sound under load

Found it (located here). Reading through, his was a AIO water cooler issue. I am using a Noctua D-15S cpu cooler so it is not that. I will contact Corsair and ask their advice on this.
