Talk to me about obtaining a new car

Alloys: the dealership can get these done cheaper than you can but they'll still knock you down about £80-100 per corner, perhaps more if they're diamond cut. I'd just take it on the chin and not bother getting them refurbished. PCH or PCP: There's no hard & fast rule. Sometimes one is better...

Is a wet willy standard protocol?

Sadly, I'm now at an age where my ear hairs grow like buggery. I love the Turkish ear hair burning technique but not so keen on the haircut itself -always ends up far too short. Have tried to burn off my ear hairs myself with a cigarette lighter but this is tricky to do without burning my ears...

What did you do to your bike today?

Yeah I'd definitely recommend the SW Motech ones. Last time I looked at their range they had various different shapes for different tank shapes. The ones I've got are contoured really well to my tank and look almost like they're factory made. If I need to charge my phone etc I run the charging...

What did you do to your bike today?

I've got a couple of SW Motech tank bags - they're really well made. In fact they're a top company full stop. I've got a big expanding bag for touring and a smaller one for pootling about. Great for storing my sunglasses, reading glasses, tobacco, small D lock, visor cleaning spray etc

Do you feel ashamed of your lack of achievements? What do you regret in life?

"The Subtle Art of Not Giving a ****" by Mark Manson -could be worth a read.

The mega 'What are you buying your better half for Christmas?' ideas, suggestions and gloat thread

She loves it. She's only using it for tracking daily steps atm. She likes the sleep analysis function too. I think if she was hard-core into exercise/fitness then it'd be a bit basic and annoying for her. I'm just glad she's finding a reason to want to hit daily step targets etc. I read...

What film did you watch last night?

Nefarious (2023) 7/10 Pretty good, creepy. Would watch it again at some point. The scene in last 20 seconds or so was a bit of a pointless addition in my opinion, or could have been presented in a more creepy/less tacky way with just a bit of thought.

Leave The World Behind | Netflix

Yeah I wondered afterwards if I'd somehow managed to keep dropping off and thus miss crucial plot stuff. It was a waste of a good cast. I wouldn't recommend.

    IMPORTANT: Members Market access

Lol I used to love having access for browsing/tyre kicking, despite being way below post count. It was seriously funny being on there with about 300 posts but having a membership spanning back years. Seriously though, I'm really not bothered. I only used to lurk there anyway, just as I lurk...

Where do you get your curry?

One of my spice recipe concoctions entails emptying out the contents of 4 cardamon pods and grinding this up with the rest of the usual spices. This gives you the cardamon flavour but without risk of munching on a pod that's floating about in the gravy. Edit: personally it doesn't bother me if I...

Where do you get your curry?

I grew up close to Bradford/Leeds where good curry is made. I now live in a small town down south where there are 3 Indians. They are all pretty meh. If we want a takeaway there's one that delivers suspiciously quickly. They always say on the phone that it'll be 45 minutes but, every time...

How Long Have You Off For Christmas

Just 3 days for me this year - Sunday to Tuesday. I tend to leave the Xmas holiday planner free for my colleagues that have young kids. Besides, I'll get fat very quickly if I have too much time off.

The mega 'What are you buying your better half for Christmas?' ideas, suggestions and gloat thread

The wife asked for a fitness watch/step tracker thing so I've ordered her a Fitbit Charge 6. Hopefully it'll do the job.

    Christmas post dinner games

How about a few rounds of "Are you there, Moriarty?" I always thought it was something my ancient relatives had made up but it's actually a real parlour game. It can be devastatingly brutal too depending how you wrap the newspaper :D

What film did you watch last night?

I loved House when it came out. I've been trying to remember for years what it was called. Brilliant film in its day :D

    Question About Air Filters

Cool, thanks for your advice, that's what I thought, I'll leave it as stock. It's gonna be expensive enough as it is for a 10+ hour service to strip it back to the valves that most likely won't need adjusting anyway. Oh the joys of Aprilia :)

    Who was your teenage crush?

I saw Walkabout a while back. I think I'd woken up to it on the sofa in the early hours after too much vino. Probably missed the start. I just googled it now & will look out for it. The old films are the best I reckon.

    Who was your teenage crush?

Logans Run was a great film. Still is I guess but very dated now. The series afterwards was quite good fun too, don't remember how many of the original cast, if any, were in that. I also remember Jenny Aguttter in The Railway Children. She must have been about 18 then. They used to put it on...
