    Caterham Time…!

    Used mine as a daily commuter for about 2 years. Roof worked surprisingly well in all weather. Only reason I sold my first caterham (ford xflow 1700) was because I wanted to build another one (rover k series). Later car had fuel injection, but I always loved the twin webers on the xflow.

    ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ ||| The 2023/2024 Gym Rats Thread ||| ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

    My son (16) has been hitting the gym pretty solidly over the last 18 months. Up to now he has been borrowing his mates belt, but they have moved away. I'm keen he doesn't injure himself so can anyone recommend some wrist straps and a lifting belt for him? No idea if it matters, but he weights...

    NHS=Negligent Health Service

    Can't help but think these issues are down in part to daft shift patterns and lack of sleep. Add in under staffing and overcrowding and you have created a perfect storm. We spend a lot less per head on the NHS than other EU countries and it shows. The last 14 years of Tory government have just...

    Caterham Time…!

    So many happy memories...... Bought my first one back in about 1993. My build diary was the first web page I ever wrote. It's still there of anyone is interested! Prepare for some awesome page design! http://www.se7ens.net/benh/caterham_info.html

    Thinking of moving to Cyprus

    Still can't get past OP complaining about paying tax and complaining about poor schools and healthcare. It's almost as though the quality of the latter depends in some way on the former!

    Travel Insurance whilst on NHS waiting list

    She has a GHIC card which will cover her for most stuff. If she had a clearly diagnosed condition it would be easy. It's because she is waiting for tests/diagnosis that she is being turned down. To be honest most of the countries she is visiting have health services in a far better state than...

    Once in a lifetime gift but unfortunately not for everyone

    When George Burns was about what he attributed his great age to his answer was "In the morning I Wake up and read the obituary column, if I'm not in ot, I get up." Happy birthday!

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

    Last time I went to soft play my 3 year old was blatantly pushed over by an 8 year old as he ran past. I was waiting at the exit to the soft play area so asked him calmly to be more careful, he told me to "**** off". Then his dad came over and told me "don't you ******* dare talk to my kid". So...

    Lost Bitcoins Man is still trying

    Exactly - but he can't and the private key is on the laptop. Remember the use of "wallet words" is relatively recent - before that you had to write down/copy a key like: E9873D79C6D87DC0FB6A5778633389F4453213303DA61F20BD67FC233AA33262 PS - not my private key :-)

    Travel Insurance whilst on NHS waiting list

    Went through the quote process and got "If you are awaiting an initial diagnosis for symptoms you are currently experiencing we are unable to provide cover at all until you have a confirmed diagnosis." So that would be on a waiting list then. This is the issue I hit again and again.

    Private healthcare

    Yeah, it's easy to blame management and I'm sure it is less than great. But it's also interesting to look at funding (ONS data from 2019) compared to other countries: UK: £2989 Norway: £4596 Ireland: £3510 France: £3737 Spain: £2444 Canada: £3647 So it does look as though our funding levels...

    So err, What’s Happened to the Princess of Wales?

    Wouldn't wish that on anyone, but I'm guessing she'll be in the blue zone? I really wish that private medical care was banned. If Rishi and the Royals had to use the NHS, I bet it would be better funded and cared for.

    Masters of the Air 2023

    Just finished Masters of the Air. 6/10 at best Where "Band of Brothers" had subtlety, intensity and balance, Masters of the Air has cliche and predictability. The whole "Red tails" arc was just totally unnecessary. It served no purpose other than to hit some studio set "quota". Some of the...

    Travel Insurance whilst on NHS waiting list

    My daughter (18) is going to travel round Europe for 4 weeks with friends when she had finished her exams. Since November, she has been on an NHS waiting list to look at her painful periods. As a non urgent referral we've been told to expect a wait of several months. As a result I simply...

    LOL nothing - but "grid fin moves = 10/10 excitement" just leaves nowhere to go when they eventually get both stages to land successfully.

    I find the whooping and cheering on the SpaceX feed just so irritating. Grid fin moves - whoop whoop cheer cheer What's wrong with a quiet understated round of applause.
