I wish it was easy to test outside the case first, but this is the first machine I have with all the new DDR2, PCIe stuff in it, so I don't have any spare components to test each bit. I do have an old PCI graphics card somewhere, but it is very, very old and I doubt it still works to be honest...

OK, I attacked the PSU with a volt meter, and it seems to give all the correct voltages to the all the power connectors. Gonna try clearing the CMOS see if that does anything...interestingly though if I take the graphics card out it still makes the a beeping noise, though it is the FDD failure...

The signal from the Mobo POST is the one for 'hardware component failure' and there is no display output to my monitor. The graphics card has an LED labelled 'fault' and it flashes when the Mobo tries to POST, so I think it's a good assumation that that is the problem...

I normally use pre-mixed stuff and I will in future...live and learn! On a side note, once I cleaned out the loop it all fine, no foam and once I got the air out of the system, hardly any bubbles either....

Well I emptied the system this morning and it looked like it was making soap! :confused: I'll clean the whole system with some spirit vinger and try again...if it foams again when I add the Zerex then I'll leave running a couple of days see if it stops after a while...

Well I'm going to leave it a while and see if it gets better, then leave it off over night. If it still like it, I'll have to drain it and try and get it clean...
