That's... weird...
You would expect it to lower temps regardless as the heat is being directly transferred to the heatsink on the air/water cooler rather than building up on the ihs first.
The alphacool block has a pure copper base and is SUPER polished. So I'd imagine I would get better temps...
Some say yes, some say it doesn't matter.
Honestly I just prefer it for lowering the power consumption/ electric bill. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give a definitive answer myself.
Not sure what you are asking.
If it is stable try lowering voltage till it is unstable then put it back up a touch to achieve the lowest possible voltage with stability.
If you are looking for adaptive, see my post above and experiment with that.
@Matt-g
Here's my settings for my 9700k @5ghz
To get adaptive mode go to cpu vcore and set it as normal.
Then DVID will open up - mine is set at -0.060
Internal ac/DC load line @ auto
Cpu vcore llc @ normal
32 GB team group 4000mhz ram
Manual timings - 18 18 18 38
Enhanced stability
Dram...
Vccio and vccsa where going up to close to 1.4v... *****!
Lowered them down to 1.18 each as a quick google seems to confirm that this is RAM related,
and keeping them on auto will cause them to draw WAY too much.
EDIT: VR VOUT seems to be the true CPU Vcore reading on this mobo with HWinfo...
Thanks for the reply, I have contacted OcUK and asked them for a refund but they are saying that as it is out of the return period it will have to go back for repairs,
and only then if a dauly is found will I get a replacement, is there someone from CS on the forums I can tag to take a look at...
I have the pro wifi.
Realbench uses some occasional avx instructions I believe.
Problem I noticed was my CPU was constantly down locked with an avx offset. I only use my rig for gaming so had turned off the avx offset now.
@Danny75 also informed me that gigabyte avx is currently broken and just...
I refitted the old asetek 360 aio and there was a good 10c difference. Need to test again now I have found a stable oc. But temps are obviously way to hot on the voltages I'm getting.
Been browsing ocuk for water cooling parts for my current build
Gigabyte z390 pro wifi
9700k
Gigabyte aorus 2080 super(soon)
Lian Li 011 air
I REALLY like the look of the heat killer stuff + the 150 aquacomputer pump with the digital readout.
Would be going for a stealth black/white/chrome...
I have asked ocuk for a refund on the aio, no way am I paying for this aio, something must have failed inside it to cause this.
Gets rave reviews from various tech sites, benchmarks putting it way ahead of most others.
Thanks @Danny75
I will definitely look into that once I have benchmarked a few games. After spending the entire week in a BIOS menu it would be nice to get back to what I actually built the dammed rig for .
Are the temps and volts looking ok otherwise now?
I have noticed my idle temps are...
Ok @Danny75 @Vimes
New settings as below after restting to default in BIOS:
RAM manually setup:
4000mhz 18-18-18-38
Enhanced stability
1.4v
CPU @ 5.0 ghz
AVX - variable settings (see links below)
Turbo Ratio (* core active) - all set to 50
CPU Vcore LLC - normal
Dynamic Vcore (DVID) -...
