    Domain and hosting advice

I've been with TSOHost for many years. However I've found their service to go from amazing to pretty awful in the last few years. I think I posted a year or so back asking for advice but with the distractions of life I haven't made the progress I would have liked with my migration. I've set...

    TSOHost

I've been with TSOHost a number of years and I agree, the service has gone down hill massively since being bought out by GoDaddy.

    Desktop Build

Looking at getting 2 desktops for Work. I have a budget or around £750 per machine and trying to work out if it's going to be much cheaper to buy myself verses a pre-built option. It will be used primary for web developent and potentially some data science. Since it will be running a Ubuntu...

MacBook Pro 2012 - Second Display

I've always been of the philosophy of spending a bit more on a product and making it last a long time. Enter the MacBook pro 2012 non retinna. It was the last MacBook I beleive, that offered great value for money. I bought it when new for £1850ish and have since upgraded the RAM and Harddirve...

    Hosting in 2019?

I've been using TSOHost for a number of years. I couldn't fault the service in the early years. It seems however in more recent times the performance seems to have degraded, resulting in slower loading websites. The support was always great, but doesn't feel quite as good now. Also I've had...

I tried to install the hfm-net stats utility and AVG flagged it up, I'm guessing it's a false positive!

    FAH Control?

Also bear in mind, if you plan to use GPU folding, each GPU will require a CPU core.

    Folding@home News 5th - 12th January

Not bad, how much power does each card demand? Mine require 300watts each, turned out my 750 watt wasn't enough so I ended up, upgrading to an 850 watt.

    Folding@home News 5th - 12th January

Not bad. I'm gonna keep my eyes pealed for a reasonable priced AMD card that I can swap one of my 280x's out with. The race to 10th place has been a slow slog recently.

    Folding@home News 5th - 12th January

Not bad. What PPD does each card give? I'm getting roughly 150k per card atm.

    Folding@home News 5th - 12th January

Good news! How much did they set you back? I'm currently folding on 2 x 280x which were £250 each new, but that was way back in 2014. The machine they are running in is fairly ancient now so I'm tempted to stick with what I've got for now till I can afford a new build at the end of the year.
