    Box closing down.

I'd be very cautious about buying from their "sister site" I always suspected they were the same place. They always had the same customer service and same inventory levels, pricing and promotional codes. I did actually buy from Box via ebay a few times this year. They had cracking deals on NVMe...

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

Ive ordered the Motherboard and the CPU. The Team Force RAM isn't on the QVL list, but that list does seem a bit outdated. Will these be fine/fast? :)

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

I'm currently running a Jellyfin server on my main PC so I'll likely stick with that software. Nice to know Plex is there if I ever need it though. :)

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

I actually just got the competitor in the post today. The Lincstation N1. It's brilliant in all respects apart from the active fan, introduces a low fan noise into my living room I don't really like. My 4090 gaming rig is completely silent, the ssd's are all silent so its annoying lol.

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

Everything in my house will be direct playing, its more just if other people choose to watch on their phones or play a 4k movie on a smaller screen etc. The majority of my content is 1080p at the moment, for me its the better balance of file size vs quality.

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

Pretty much yes. :) Thanks for that, looks like a really nice system. I'll look into it now. I have a Seasonic Vertex 1200w in my main rig and its being completely silent, so happy to go Seasonic again. Is 32gb of RAM over kill for a media server? I'm new to all this but does it not help with...

Please spec me an all SSD Jellyfin/Plex Server Build

Hi all. Last minute change of plans. Could you spec me a energy efficient all SSD Plex/Jellyfin build. No budget, but given the relatively simple nature I wouldn't expect to pay the earth (I have a 4090 gaming PC for literally everything else). Requirements would be the following; Essential...

    NAS Drive Enclosure NVM

I've got a Lincstation N1 NAS coming. It's 6 x SSD bays (two sata ssds and four NVMes). It also comes with an Unraid licence. £223.

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

Yeah I think retail price is £276. This £236 is for supporter backers. Still great either way. When I get my unit I'll post impressions.

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

I think the price alone will carve them out a niche. The nearest competitor with 6 bays, all flash and same processor and far less RAM and without Unraid is £479.

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

By the sounds of it they are certainly invested in listening, future versions and improvements. As long as they keep the pricing as competitive as it is, I'd probably upgrade down the line for sure.

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

But if its only a small percentage, would it not be better to keep costs down for the majority? With it being SSD as well I'm not sure how many would be storing many of their full 4k disc remuxs. Don't get me wrong I'd rather have it than not, but I don't think its a deal breaker given the...

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

That looks good also. The concessions there are an AMD CPU (Intel is much better for transcoding) and will be a higher running cost. Still it packs a lot of features, all depends on the price as well, ultimately.

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

750MBs would be the max speed for 1 Lane gen 3 wouldn't it? And 2.5gbe would give max speed of 312MBs. Still faster than traditional hard drives but definitely performance left on the table. That said if you take out the Unraid licence this costs £200. £250 cheaper than the nearest competitor...

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

Teh But then wouldn't you be hampered by the PCIE lanes and then by the CPU. At that point it would be a totally different product, wattage and price point. That being said leaves a lot of room for other products in the range, to prioritise different things.

Need recomendation/build for a dedicated Jellyfin server for a complete beginner!

Thank you. Would a switch work with a Virgin Media Hub 5? I read somewhere it wouldn't but that was possibly with it set in modem mode or something.

Need recomendation/build for a dedicated Jellyfin server for a complete beginner!

I've got a technical question if someone can help a beginner lol; If my PC has one 2.5gbe connection, the NAS has one 2.5gbe connection and my Internet modem has one 2.5gbe connection (my Internet speed is 1 gigabit) which device should I be plugging into the 2.5gbe connection on the modem, the...

LincStation N1: World's First 6-bay all SSD Unraid NAS

The offer was from a well known competitor via the marketplace. There was a code "sale15" that finished last night. Sure it will come back again. :)

So I got the o2 sim card for £10 deal. Its exactly the same as my sim card I use now for £7.99 but £10. So I canceled my current one and and got the free upgrade 512 to 1gig for effectively £2 extra per month. So I'm now paying 32 + 10 for 1 gig and Sim. Where's before I was paying 32 + 8 for...

Yeah haven't got much negotiating power, but it's almost free money for them so we shall see. Through the website £42 isn't too bad.
