Thanks! Went on a bit of a lifestyle transformation and was a present to myself for keeping it up over multiple years. Plus it finally made sense to shave a bit of weight off the bike as I wasn’t the limiting factor :D Also helped that I managed to get it before the price rises by chance and...

Probably find they’ll clean themselves with use. At least that’s what I find for cassettes on my gravel bike.

The Indoor Riding/ Zwift/ TrainerRoad etc. Thread

I’ve only ever been on a direct drive but few thoughts: 1.) Form and fatigue is a thing, I’ve started warmups where I’ve felt like death but it sounds like you’d recognise this 2.) There’s a bit of an inertia thing depending on gearing. I used to spin in large front and found it ‘easier’ but...

Getting ready to fit these for Spring just as the snow is due! New wheel day! Lots of deliberating between different options, price points etc but have settled on matchy matchy Roval Rapides. These are the CL IIs rather than the CLX but I’m sure I’ll survive.

K-Edge stuff has been solid for me. Pricing seems to have been hit by the dollar and inflation though…!

Looking good. Are you going to trim the fork steerer once you’ve dialled in height etc? Based on your location, Ocuk group ride round Bowland on the cards? :-)

I’m bought in to the Silca wax, both the hot melt variant and topping up with the bottle stuff. Name escapes me. Excellent results in terms of cleanliness and wear so far. Don’t expect it to be quiet though!

Don’t think you can go wrong really with a blend of any of the AXS elements, think people just like the Rival shifters as they are slightly smaller. I think the newer FDs are supposed to play nicer too but just make sure you have a chain catcher. My bike was full Rival but swapped to Red...

Current Rival shifters are nicer anyway! From memory, the ‘bang for buck’ weight savings in a Rival groupset are the Red cranks, Force cassette and possibly the Force RD. And the Force chain if being pedantic.

That’ll be the reinforcement I need then, shall probably make a purchase tonight :D Taking my gravel bike/honorary winter road bike off the turbo for my first outdoor ride since new year as still a bit wintery for the main bike. Have a sportive in a couple of weeks so aiming to get about...

    Power/Weight Thread

Not really visited this part of the forum but some of your numbers are pretty insane. I’m at about 4.2w/kg with FTP of 285 or so and weight of 68kg. This is based on 20 min average, zwift ramp, TrainerRoad ramp and TrainerRoad AI so fairly consistent. Kit is a blend of Kickr Core, 4iii...

Anyone have a Garmin 1040? Body is sensing the start of Spring and my brain has clicked in to cycling spend mode. Just bought a new wheelset that I promised myself last year and now looking to replace my well abused Garmin 530. I’m in to the Garmin ecosystem as I have a Fenix but the amount...

    The disappearance of Nicola Bulley

I live downstream of this (approx 800m from the river) although haven’t been near the area since this happened. They’ve had police at the opening to the sea and as it widens so you’d assume they’ve also covered the area in between. With ref to closing it off, it’s a bit of a rat run as an...

    List your DIY hacks

I generally do quite a lot of research on things. When I moved in to a new build wjth thermal block and dot and dab I ran in to the same issue wrt fixings. Bought these. They are garbage. Nothing good to say about them. Worst decision I’ve made. These are great, used these for kitchen and...

New kitchen, mistake not to get built-in bin storage?

This is Amtico Spacia in a small parquet. I know it’s a touch overpriced as paying for marketing etc but we liked the colour/pattern and it’s what our local shop fits, had good feedback and their fitters were happy to take it to the edges without a border (and without charging an extra £1000 or...
