    CCTV storage.

I run my CCTV on Synology Surveillance Station with 4x 4TB WD Reds. I think they are 5400rpm. Seems to run perfect, although I do have a 1TB SSD cache.

Best network at the moment to use.

Another vote for EE. Probably a bit more expensive but data always seems fast and coverage is good. Vodafone, will never ever use them due a bad experience a few years ago. O2 - absolutely shocking data speeds.

Only issue with name cheap is the ever increasing price, but not sure how much of that is them.

Synology 2 bay - adding a drive with bigger size to existing SHR array

If you want it to go faster, make sure you stop any services doing big I/O and then override the default repair speed :)

Synology 2 bay - adding a drive with bigger size to existing SHR array

I've recently replaced a 4TB disk in my 4x 4TB SHR array, which was approx 50% utilised (not sure how much difference this makes), and it took about 24 hours or so.

    What watch do you wear?

I’m in a watch wearing predicament. I love a traditional watch, and have a Tissot and a Tag. However I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch Ultra for the past year as I like the geekiness of it, and the health/exercise tracking. I’d love to wear my Tag or Tissot as my everyday again but I get...

Why doesn't Wi-Fi work if ethernet plugged in to router?

MacOS does this too. I have a work MacBook, with dock, and when ethernet is plugged into the dock, everything is routed via ethernet instead of Wifi.

Synology 2 bay - adding a drive with bigger size to existing SHR array

Beware of the time it takes to repair after a disk swap.....you're talking days for bigger arrays and gives you a failure point for that period.

What did you do to your bike today?

Back before I had a Tiger I used Kriega packs.....but on my last Europe tour the top box wasn't quite big enough for all my stuff (don't like running with panniers), so I might get another soft pack for the pillion seat. Take it you'd recommend the SW Motech ones? Or are Kriega still the go to?
