    Massive Car insurance costs?

Ours is due for renewal in January, we have one car, a 10 year old Focus. No claims, 15 years ncb and neither of us have any points. Last year we paid £194 this year the comparison sites are giving the cheapest prices rather than direct at £427 with a much higher excess as standard. That’s a...

What "man jobs" have you done today?

New wiper linkage installed on our old corsa, then on to a non working horn on the cmax. Bit of a ballache as I don’t have any ramps so had to take the front bumper off. Corroded contacts just as I thought.

Anyone else here got Reynaud's? How do you keep your hands warm?

I too suffer from Reynauds. As other have said keeping your core warm does seem to have the best results. If I am working at home I will wear my dressing gown as an extra layer, occasionally a hot water bottle is needed. I do use fingerless gloves when typing sometimes too.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Put up a mirror in the bedroom to allow the Mrs to titivate herself and then an IKEA floating shelf in the bathroom. The shelf was a pain as the wall wasn’t flat.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Installed guttering on the garage and attached my repaired water butt. Was going to install a french drain too but B&Q forgot to deliver my new shovel.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Fixed a leaking water butt with a bit of DIY plastic welding and then fixed my garage broom. It came with some crappy plastic screw bit connecting the handle and head so that needed remedying.

What was the first game you ever played?

World Games on Commodore 64. I loved barrel jumping!

GRP roofing. Noisy when it rain?

As above GRP, no seams so less chance of a leak and if done correctly you likely won’t ever have to worry about replacing it again. As Andarial said it’s easier to repair too if something does happen. We’ve had our bay windows redone with GRP (formerly they were felt) and I don’t think it’s any...

Xmas present recommendations for a toddler

To echo others, things that encourage imagination and don’t restrict play. We just bought 2nd hand Duplo sets and at 4 it’s still his go to. Most 2yo’s will be more interested in playing with the box than its contents.

    Cant speak to Sky!

Had this nightmare myself recently. You have to tell the robot you want to make a complaint. You’ll then get through to a person, every other option just directs you to online help and hangs up.

    MSI Tomahawk Max problem

You haven't mentioned it so forgive me if you've tried but this sounds like a BIOS problem, have you updated it? Failing that removing every device and adding them back one at a time so see if it's something specific?

The OcUK Relationship Counselling and Hugs Thread

No. There are too many variables at play. No matter how attractive the mother is bringing up someone else's kids is rock hard. Take it from someone who is suffering and don't make the same mistake.

    Energy Suppliers

Been looking into switching as our average usage is around £99pm and EDF wants to increase the DD to £140. They're constantly at it and it's really annoyed me. Decided to switch to Octopus so if anyone has a referral code that'd be great thanks.

How often do you have a nice sit down in the bathroom?

Once in the morning normally, occasionally I require a cup of coffee to get things in motion. If I’m stressed then it will be more often throughout the day. I couldn’t go at work or while out and about the facilities are generally disgusting. Plus I like to clean properly and you can’t do...

    Strimmers? Any recommendations?

We have a cheapo corded qualcast one. Always hated strimmers before but this thing is brilliant. The auto feed works as it should and the line that came with it lasted a full summer. I've replaced it this year with Wilko's own 1.6mm line and it's been similarly brilliant so far. I have found its...

    Your perfect male grooming regime?

If you do find you sweat a lot from your pits use something like driclor to tame the sweating. I used to get quite damp under arms until I used it, so while I didn't smell I was conscious of stains. That stuff solved it. I believe you can get odaban which is the same sort of stuff on...

Run! :D It's not doomed to failure but that depends on the age of the children and the relationship they have with their father. Remember that it's very different seeing them on the odd weekend to living with them full time. There might be vast differences in how you and their mum were brought...
