I run vista 64bit with my vista profile (ie itunes music folder) in completely different path and drive to default and it works fine with 8.0.2.20. Maybe the file has been corrupted......

As far as I know the Itunes artwork files are encrypted so you can't access them directly. You can see them in explorer but can't get to the jpegs directly. The copy and paste method is ok but a bit slow. If your file naming doesn't match Apple then it's a bit pap to get the artwork.

Maxtor, Seagate, WD will all fail over time. One particular model maybe better / worse than another but you can be sure in a few years time they won't be making that good / bad one. I doubt there are any accurate statistics available on the net to prove what make is the best but maybe i'm wrong. ;0
