What is wrong with a 'jumped up title' ? If a country wants to honour some of its people with a medal, title or whatever, then to me that's a good thing. The fact that it doesn't come with money, or land, or 'any real importance' etc.. makes it even more worthwhile. Something to strive for...

You haven't explained why it makes sense to have a full ban on smoking. Your argument is incomplete and therefore dumb. :rolleyes: I can think of loads of other things that aren't necessary that could be banned like alcohol etc etc.. Should we ban those ?

So, the parent's can smoke at home and inflict their passive smoke on children but can't in the car ? - seems like half an idea to me. As a result of this, there will be less incidence of 'passive' smoking-related diseases amongst children aged under 16 ?

Children under 16 don't really have much choice as to what their parent's do or inflict on them for anything. Why should this be any different ?
