    Cordless mower recommendation?

Oh, and brushless motors are theoretically maintenance free, more reliable and deliver more grunt. Based on what I know from RC cars rather than lawnmowers. :D

    Cordless mower recommendation?

The Ah rating of the batteries is a measure of how long the charge will last. The voltage theoretically denotes the 'power' (which is the wrong term entirely, but for the purposes of this...) the mower has. Less likely to bog down in long grass. But I wouldn't like to say that Greenworks 40V...

    Cordless mower recommendation?

Neither, 41cm! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06WW7CLX3 The 2 batteries at a time one is (I think) a 48V mower, using 2x 24V batteries. I very nearly bought Ryobi, as they have such a massive range of tools that the batteries would also fit - but I found one of theirs on display at a B&Q...

    Cordless mower recommendation?

Should have said - I got it on sale for £250 with 2x 2Ah batteries. I think it's available at that price fairly regularly. Very rough estimate, based on google maps, suggests I mow about 180m2 of grass, and it just makes it on one of the batteries.

    Cordless mower recommendation?

I bought the Greenworks 40V mower late last year - so I've done one cut (and pick up of loads of leaves - I use the lazy approach to leaf clearing) at the end of last year, and one cut this year so far. Absolutely chuffed with it. Definitely no less powerful that the Bosch corded mower I had...

Noteworthy Cars for Sale [Appreciation Thread]

Lovely. But that "POA" says to me - I bet it's not worth as much as he thinks it is!

Noteworthy Cars for Sale [Appreciation Thread]

My dad currently has a very late first generation 300ZX, and a very early second generation (i.e. the one posted above) 300ZX sitting in his garage / shed. So late / early that they've got the same registration year as each other. Hasn't driven either of them for probably ten years. They were in...

    Relaxing Games

I was indignant because I had already mentioned this. Except I see that I haven't in this thread. It was quite recent, so there must be another 'relaxing games' thread floating around here somewhere.

    Relaxing Games

Too relaxing! I kept falling asleep at the wheel.

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Went to Halfords at lunch for some more oil (funny that. Could swear I only just topped it up... ) and cleaning gear. That they didn't have any of the engine cleaning stuff I wanted, I am seeing as a sign. I was planning on getting the car detailed soon anyway, so will now commence...

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I've had a couple of people suggest finding a garage that can steam clean the engine bay. Is that safer for the electrics? It sounds more worrying if anything, to a layman at least!

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I've had a mini-disaster with the C63 yesterday. Oil filler cap came off, and coated the engine bay with oil. :( I say mini because of two redeeming factors: 1) The cap was still sitting on top of the engine when I looked. 2) The oil level post-disaster was still on the MIN mark, so I was able...

    Revitalise this grass (have dog)

There's a product called Dog Rocks, which you put in their water bowl. The science (as they describe it themselves, and especially the claims they make to justify why you should buy their product not any competitors) is a bit sketchy sounding. But I have to say that they worked pretty well with...

British Airways business class seating sucks on the A380

It was a good few years back, and I can't remember the plane. But I found the same on a BA cross-atlantic flight. Brilliant that the seats go fully horizontal. Less brilliant that if you've got a window seat, that means there is no way out of it without disturbing your neighbour.

Iran launching drones to hit isreal

I know in today's world it's not unusual for conflicts to be reported on live. But is it a whole new level of weird that this attack is being reported on hours before anything will even reach Israel?

    Painting rotors

The reason I didn't spray was because I couldn't get my head around accurately masking off a curved edge. My discs have a pronounced lip between the hub and the braking surface, so it was very easy to stick to that edge with a brush.

    Painting rotors

Call me a savage, but I brush painted the hub part of my discs with smooth silver hammerite. Reason being, it's largely hidden behind the wheel anyway, so wouldn't be noticeable. Certainly looks a load better than the rusty mess that part of the disc invariably turns in to.

New system for gaming and VR

Supplementary question: If I do wimp out, how do I get Overclockers to build a PC for me? Just a ticket to customer services?

New system for gaming and VR

This build has me very tempted now. The £800 difference between the 4090 and the 4080S is pretty dramatic, and I've always been of the approach of buying just behind the cutting edge previously. It was only the VR consideration that had me tempted to move away from that approach. On reflection...
