    I would apply for planning permission for it to build a garage/workshop. Yes everyone else is probably right that the permission may not be granted; but if it is it would be excellent for you. So may be worth drawing up some plans and sending them off.

    15 days off for me (not using any holiday allowance), back 3rd January. Offered overtime over christmas but I enjoy the time off.

    Since owning my own home I have invested in mid range 18v LXT Makita tools. Combi drill, impact driver, multi tool, angle grinder, torch and 2x 4ah batteries. Has all served me well so far.     Removed old cement mortar from brickwork at rear of house with angle grinder and hammer and chisel. Now need to find the time to actually repoint it.

    Regarding Jet Washer. I use my father in laws karcher. Its the very basic and cheapest model and I was actually impressed with it. Cleaned pavior brickwork well. As its the cheapest model and a karcher I do not know how durable it is though.

    I mean when you lay the cement mixture make sure its not just 1mm thin. Try and put a good amount down so the slab can bed in properly. Yes a sinngle bag of sharp sand and a single bag of cement will be more than enough.

    For underneath the slab mix 4 parts sharp sand to 1 part cement. Compact all of that sand so its nice and flat. Spread the cement mix all over the area where the slab is going to go and as deep as possible. Dont just put blobs in corner. With whats left over you could then poke that into your hole.
