    E6600 Stock HSF Temps?

Seems a bit high. My E6600 with stock HSF on a P5W-DH is currently showing 28 in asus probe II and Core Temp shows 45/44. Might be an idea to get hold of core temp and see what it reports. Temps are also dependant on your case and the airflow it provides, comparing temps from system to system is...

Long time Shuttle user going back to full build - Check my spec please

Same processor, board and memory as me, although only 2GB. WinXP can only really make use of 3GB, and if you're planning to do any clocking then you will be better off with 2GB. Same PSU as well I've just noticed, only got a 7900GT myself, although on the SLI front there are some 'modified'...

    W.C. loop length, affect performance?

W.C. case choice After much thinking I've pretty much settled on a Mountain Mods U2-UFO as my ideal w/c case - no modding needed, everything will fit out of the box. Fairly expensive and rather large, but its the sort of case that will keep going for a good few years. Only possible draw-back I...

    Cleaning chipset for AS5'ing

Having a look at the thread on xs (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=106563 ) seeing as I will hopefully be going water cooling at some point and getting the heat pipes working better would be a good thing. Was wondering about the cleaning materials used; is white spirit a...

Guide: Fitting a radiator to a case roof panel

Noticed in the final pic you've modded the front and back for 120mm fans. More dremel magic? Probably going to try the same, although the stock fans aren't too bad, but quieter is better.

    Case conundrum

Cool, I've had a quick glance and will go back and study it later. Will probably go a for pre-modded case, or maybe a mountain-mods as they will swallow a 120.3 without an effort, and then come back and finish modding the PC70 later. I'd prefer to have my shiny new kit up and running, with as...

    Shiny new conroe build

and its still formating the disk! Damn me and my cautious approach. Suppose it gives it time to settle in a bit and at least the disk will be fully formatted and any bad sectors picked up. Back to bf2 with everything at medium one last time then.... At least I've got 3 whole days to to set...

Whats making my games stutter! help

Could be a driver issue? Many years ago when AGP was all new and shiny I had a card installed and didn't have the correct motherboard AGP drivers. Moving in a straight line was fine, but turning round; i.e. swapping textures, and it crawled to a halt. Sounds like a similar problem, i.e. the...

    Case conundrum

That would be great. I Layed it all out with masking tap and even selotape to stop the drill bit skipping, but didn't really help. In theory I was going to use the holesaw I have for the fan/rad mounting - didn't get that far as drilling pilot holes for everything wasn't as easy as I'd hoped...

    Case conundrum

So, after making the decision to go for water cooling for my next build I thought I'd have a go at modding my currently unused PC70. You now find me after 2 broken drill bits, much frustration and thankfully no injuries. My thoughts are now focused on getting a new case that either a) requires...

New Asus nforce 590 sli conroe board is on their site!

I'm pretty much in the same boat, trying to hold out for an nf5 board but weakening daily. Had a look around for the P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe, but it seems to be pre-order only which really doesn't bode well for the speedy arrival of nf5 boards. I'd consider buying a board to tide me over, but none...

    Storm block with P5W DH

Is anyone running this combination? Does the storm fit on this board? Looking at pictures there is a row of caps to the right of the socket and possibly above the socket that could obstruct the block. Its a swiftech version it that makes any difference.

drill bit size for fan screw holes

Ok, that sounds good. I'll have to see what the local diy places have. Cheers.

Cheers for the confirmation, more bits to add to the List.

    water cooling gpu

A combination of a swiftech MCW60 and a set of Zalman ramsinks should be good for a 7900GT? Are there any particular brand/model of graphics cards that this combination would be a problem with?

drill bit size for fan screw holes

What size drill bit would I need for fan screw holes? Looking at a fan, the screw holes are 4mm, so one that size and then a 2mm bit for drilling pilot holes. Having not done this before just want to make sure I've got the basics right.

    Watercooling - Cleaning before use

I would also be interested in that article (as long as it doesn't break the rules). Need to get round to giving my Thermochill a clean out.

    holesaw

Was looking at holesaws for installing a rad and fans in my old PC70 and was wondering if any particular make of holesaw is better? The ones I was looking at are: Draper, Starrett and Irwin. While there is not a massive price difference between them just wanted to make sure I get a decent one. I...

    rad cleaning

I'd done a bit of googling and found a few places where people had new thermochills that they had flushed out. I can't find the link at the moment, but there were pictures of the results from successive flushes - seems as though there is quite a lot of possible contaminant in there which could...

    rad cleaning

I have a shiny new pa120.3 thats currently waiting for lift-off (which will probably be when the nf5 boards appear - unless I crack before then). Seeing as I've got some spare time this weekend I thought it would be a good opportunity to give the rad a good clean out. It seems the solution of...
