Good afternoon all,
Looking for the smallest possible build in terms of size and space. Needs to basically run 3x Lineage 2 clients and be accessible over VNC/Remote desktop therefore graphics options doesn't need to be anything ridiculous. 256GB space / 16GB memory would be plenty. I might...
The reason I ask, is there's a £4 difference in the 3200 and the 3000 so was just thinking for the future as I don't plan to overclock straight away. And just wanted to buy what's right and going to work best straight out the box
So let's say I brought the BLS4K16G4D32AESB, does that mean if I run this at 3000Mhz I would get the same timings as BLS4K16G4D30AESB?
So example, the 3000Mhz runs at 15-16-16
If I brought the 3200Mhz, but run it at 3000Mhz, then would I still get 15-16-16?
I'm just going to go for a 9900k build for now, it's more appealing to me.
Can anybody recommend a good Motherboard & RAM Combo? I've seen some C14's but not sure if to just get C16's at around 3200Mhz
Some memory I've been looking at:
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz...
There's just too much to choose from, and with the money I'm spending I need it to be right.
So the thing is I pretty much need this ASAP like within the next few days, I can only assume 10th gen isn't going to be any time soon. It's just causing me too many problems now with having to restart...
So it's time to upgrade the I7 5930k I have, It's just not enough anymore.
I'd like to upgrade to the 9900k or even the 9900/9920x
I have a 2080Ti waiting to be used in the system I build, and I also plan for 64GB of memory. 32GB right now I keep running into memory issues.
The reason I...
There is the "Intel SKULL CANYON i7 Gaming NUC NUC6I7KYK" for an extra £100... but I couldn't imagine the cooler to be so great on that? It is even smaller though...
I just want something small in size, a cpu with a decent passmark for future. It will run Plex as mentioned, but It will also need to run some services for my CCTV, a local MySQL/httpd server, with room to do more later on.
That DeskMini 110 is a perfect size for what little room I have already.
I did notice this too after looking into the DeskMini 110, but to be honest the 110 would more than suit my needs. Haven't had chance to look into it properly yet.
Ohhh I like, I could even stick a "Intel Core i7 7700" inside as I can pick one up reasonably cheap. I will look into this more in the morning! nice one.
I was thinking I could replace the gf's current system for this, so it has multiple purpose, and still have enough power for everything else. Plus it'll take up less space. Put my 980Ti in there and buy myself a 1080Ti while I'm at it :) (Haven't looked which case would accumulate the 980Ti...
Well, Looks like I'm in the look for a "server" of some sort now... I did buy a QNAP TS-853A.
I have the QNAP all setup, but it looks like everyone in the household now wants access, and that QNAP isn't up for the job, so I need something purely for Plex, and keep the QNAP as what it's meant...
Which Ryzen would you recommend? :)
I came across this motherboard: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-prime-x370-pro-amd-x370-socket-am4-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-69f-as.html which has 8x SATA 6G (RAID 0, 1, 10) - Not many RAID levels but looks like it's fine for what I need.
I still can't...
That was my exact though after seeing that!
I don't think I really care about "hot swapping", saving some extra pennies just to spend a little time opening up a case I don't mind (right now) but the option is always there in the future I suppose!
