Doesn't DP usually have a higher bandwidth and quality than HDMI? If I connect the monitor via DP (assumed 1.4) to my GPU, it says "HDR emulated". The Radeon Tool offer me to change to 10 bpc (not sure what that is). Windows offers me to enable HDR (which just makes everything greyish weird)...
