I have an i5 4670k and im planning to upgrade and want to go with AMD this time round.
I want to be set for the next 4-5 years.
Use my PC for mainly gaming and some video editing and uni work.
I have it narrowed down to the R5 3600x and R7 3700x.
Will the 3600x be more than enough or will...
With the gpu out and still getting the problem I have disconnected my nzxt sentry mix 2. i have restarted over 10 times and no sign of this problem. Hopefully its solved. Do you guys think this could have been the problem ?
Ok thats good. Only thing is it happened once maybe twice with the gpu out. With it connected it happens 8/10 times I shut down and try to restart. So with the Gpu definitely happens more often.
I completely disconnected the gpu and connect my HDMI to the motherboard and it worked for a short time until the pc was shut down. When i tried to boot up it started from a split second and powered down again. So this rules out the gpu ?
Yeah I was ready for replacing the gpu but then decided to keep it for a while longer. I don't have another board no. The board is only 3 months old. I have the Gpu in the lower slot just now. But the problem still occurred with the gpu completely disconnected.
Could clearing the cmos do any...
yeah had a look and they seem fine. I also took out a usb led light strip that was connected to the back and it worked. but then happened again when i plugged the gpu back in :(
I want to get GTX 980ti in the future so thought I would need a more powerful psu. I have disconnected the GPU and after a hour or two i shut the pc down and it had the same problem. :(
any Ideas ?
I does seem quite similar to what's going on with my pc. Push the button and it seems like it going to start for a split second and just powers down. I have not checked the pins will do tomorrow. Was thinking of upgrading my PSU anyway so not show if i should just do that and maybe that will fix...
Ok. I will try it in the lower slot to see if that helps.
Just one of those problems and happens ever now and then so takes time to figure out the cause.
Cheers
I could try connecting it to the secondary slot. would with work fine or would i loose power ? Also I tried changing connections on the psu never helped only thing that helped this time was to connect one cable to the gpu it powered up then I turned it off the connected the other and it work...
Yeah I will try taking the gpu out but the problem is that it doesn't happen all the time and this is my gaming pc so without the gpu I wont be able to play any games. Doesn't even happen when I'm at full load only when the pc has been turned off. also I tried taking ram out and leaving one...

Hello,
I have been having this problem for a few weeks now. If my computer shuts down sometimes it can be a real hassle to get back on. When i press the power button the light flash and fans spin for like a second and it shuts down again. this happens over and over. I tried taking out the...
Yeah the 280x was a great card but now it seems to be causing a few issues and its out or warranty so can't be sent for RMA i tried :( think I was lucky getting the 165 for it though. maybe wait a while then see if the cards go down on price. Thanks :)
I have tried to get the RMA but its out or warranty and the offered me a goodwill gesture of 165 GBP so was just going to put money to that and upgrade.
