just basic settings in the bios, im using the original bios, (there have been 2 newer since) and at least the settings i pick stay and dont revert back to 2800

I don`t like the way the bios keep changing the memory settings , dont know about yours but mine will reset back to default if it fails to boot (asus zenith extreme alpha). Wonder if its an Asus thing ?

Just found some old err backup cds and managed to unace Enemy Infestation (c) Ripcord from 1998 ! and it plays perfect ! lol (thanks Razor ;)

Im running all 4 at 3000 no problem, with the older bios you can make any memory tweak you want and the motherboard will boot without damn beeping at you like a banshee and then resetting itself in a huffy fit. Thanks for the offer but I think im ok now And not really , computer says no jobs...

Too hot for gpu projects, err unless you hang your rads out the window that is :)

Mostly Boinc , I will try some gaming as well, just downloaded the rtx version of quake2 but i really need a better monitor and It does some mining when im not around (that's how i paid for the cpu with £1600 of btc) Might take a while to get that back again lol Edit: Not had time to play with...

Did you watch the youtube video i did? till the end with them damn bleeps and then having it reset back to 2800 ? None of that with the old bios, dial it in and it stays in. Tho windows blue screens at the highest settings its ok at 3000, ill have to have a fiddle with it when i get time.

I Peed everybody off on the cinebench20 thread lol, hammered it with first try, multi thread tho its slow single core Waiting to hear back from Asus about the bios , expect they are a bit busy Ive settled on running it like a fast new car in the uk, limited to 70 and cant get above 50 most of...

Ha tried that so many times, nope I want back to bios 0405 , its not perfect but at least it lets you run memory at the right settings without bleeping at you and resetting the timings back to 2400

OK well I am shocked, such a simple fix to get running @3200Mhz , anybody want to guess before I give away the secret?

Think i have sorted it by myself :) Using 1 stick of memory and removed m.2 from dim.2 slot and using a ssd with Linux and im running stable @3000 woooo , time to try replacing the other sticks but its running boinc faster already :) (or it might be my imagination lol) Poor old 8pack and all...

Ive no idea what your saying other then ive upped the cpu soc from 1.035v to 1.1v :) yet to try upping the memory again, will try soon , Anybody want to buy a 2990wx with possibly a weak IMC ? lol going beep...beep.beep
