When to make the move to 4K

Unless it's a massive screen. I'd stick with 1440p. I can't tell a difference on my 27" between the two.

    LG 42" C2 vs C3 vs ASUS 42" ROG Swift PG42UQ

I don't even have the C series. I'm still blown away by my LG A1.

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

360hz seems ridiculous to me haha. Might be a case of diminishing returns at that point.

2024 OLED bonanza take your pick from dozens of new monitors

Still the Alienware 34" 1440p for me most likely.

Lower resolution v lower graphics settings

I'd do my best to not lower the resolution to 1080p. Can't look good on a TV that big surely. I'd go graphics first.

    best GPU for 1080p @ £300 ish

Really was the best value card when it released. Still recommend it to this day

    OLED or Not

Try and take a look in-store if possible maybe? OLEDs are something else, I love my OLED TV and probably would never go back now.

Two tiny RTX 4060 ITX builds

They're insane. Must've been a pain to build in haha.

What is the most trusted SSD?

Subjective. I've had crucial, seasonic & some lesser known brands. All good

    How old is too old?

Personally wouldn't be bothered how old it is if it's functioning fine. Though 10+ years would be pushing it.

PSU for Ryzen 3600x and GTX1060

Solid 550+ PSU. Typically I go gold rated but if it's for a budget build a bronze rated from a reputable brand should be fine. 850w seems overkill for me.

how many cases have you had ?

Probably 5+ with a couple being SFF cases. My current case is tiny and I love it. They've gotten smaller every time I've upgraded.

    2080TI FE to 4070 super??

Would have to be a bigger jump in performance for me. Wouldn't be able to justify it otherwise.

    best GPU for 1080p @ £300 ish

Used 3060 Ti mines still going strong!

    What's your CPU upgrade cycle?

    6600k - 3600x - 5800x. Probably missing one or two!

    3070ti to a 3090?

Would be a decent boost for sure but depends on what you want from it I guess!

Masssive Xbox leak reveals new consoles

Shame about the future of consoles going digital only. It was only a matter of time. I still remember the uproar when they announced the Xbox One was going to be all digital (they reversed the decision quick). Even if you're digital only, there's people that solely play physical. It's only the...

    RTX 4090 coldfeet!

You've got to think the 5 series might be better but will likely be more expensive (again). There's always going to be new components just around the corner. The 4090 should last for years to come. If a cheaper card will do for now I'd probably go down that route instead of dropping 1.6k.

3080ti -> upgrade? is it worth it?

But why though haha. Sounds like you're not sure yourself. Me personally I'd save the money, 3080Ti is plenty enough.

3080ti -> upgrade? is it worth it?

Is it struggling at all now? Why exactly are you looking to upgrade?
