Ok thank you. I've been doing it wrong all this time.
I thought I needed a sound card to create a better signal for my receiver to use. But if this isn't the case and I can just use the hdmi out on my gpu or motherboard then I will do that. As long as I get the best quality music that way.
I'm confused now.
I have an Onkyo AV Receiver TX-NR-515. I read thia has 7.2 channels. So I just need to feed this AV an HDMI signal for 7.1? And my sound card choice is irrelevant from what I'm reading?
I have been using optic cable to connect my pc to the amp as I was told that was best.
Edit. I would struggle to fit this card in as it needs 2 slots on the back by the looks of it.
So I've just put liquid cooling into my pc. Short story, I've had to move 1 of my graphics cards. This GPU now blocks off my only PCI slot that once housed my Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim.
I have an Asus V Formula motherboard so only have 1 pci slot.
I have 1 pcie x16 and one pcie x4 slot left...
If you're really worried about dust and rain you can get a rain cover. Like a little jacket for your camera. I've used one at sea and they work very well.
So Vodafone despite telling me twice it would come today. Now say because I'm a new customer I won't get it until the 10th-11th. Not a good start with Vodafone....
