Does it turn over slower than normal or full speed and just won't fire? If you've never put a battery on the car check 2 things. First, that the previous owner put the correct spec battery on and second buy a drop tester (sub 30 quid) and do a load test. Check for bubbles in the fuel line...

I'm guessing the OP is using the obligatory Honda GX (or compatible) series of engine. I'd just like to add that when he's felling the need for more power, the GX390 is an excellent choice. Iirc it's almost a 50% hike in hp and torque over the GX270, but it might need some fettling to fit. Nice...

I'd recommend you have the lsd lockup redone to Alpina spec. It really makes quite a difference .
