Some of the feedback on watching moving has been along the lines of “this is like we have been watching movies wrong the whole time”.
If I had the excess cash, I’d love to own one of these to see what that’s like… but might need to wait for v2 or v3 before I pull the trigger, if only because of...
It’s not especially hard to follow if you keep your finger on the pulse. All of this together makes it really annoying to dip in and out of the hardware game once it comes around to upgrade time. Even if you know tech in general, you have to spend a few minutes trying to decode what is going on.
I also dropped off DS1 about after you got on the ship to cross the lake. I think I was busy with real life stuff that didn’t help, but I sorta let frustrated that this big desolate world felt very samey (always the same sort of speech from the holographic communicators etc).
I’ll try and give...
Quite an anti DLSS sentiment here… even if you think DLSS makes it look worse, the image quality issues seem quite minor to the improvements RT brings to the tables.
So, yes I always turn it on, and always turn on DLSS.
I have a 2080Ti at the moment, not playing a huge amount of first-person shooters and adventure/action games look decent to me at 80+ frame rates. Want RT but DLSS helps the frame rates.
For this reason I'm mulling the 4k jump as well, played a bit on my TV recently and it is nice to see the...
I don't think a lot of these YouTube reviews are being imaginative enough.
'What do we use it for" is... well... everything. It becomes the new way to use your computer, interact with the internet etc. It's work, entertainment, personal/family uses all in one.
Reddit threads are increasingly turning positive after several days of use. Of course, some still have complaints - but I’m seeing the tide turning for this being ‘the future’. Let’s see how it holds up after several months but I’m cautiously optimistic and excited.
Another question. I'm getting into the idea of Home Assistant and running a variety of smart devices.
The basics will be sensors, switches, plugs, lights etc.
Are there any general recommendations for us here in the UK regarding recommended brands for security? I am somewhat wary of jumping...
It is not 'bad writing' if a show doesn't pander to you whims of wanting every single detail explained.
What part of a giant arrow appearing on a bridge is so critical to the plot of Hawkeye? Why is its acknowledgment or 'permanence' so important?
Is Hawkeye a show about the lasting effects...
This city lives in a world that has very publicly faced the original Loki invasion, an entire city being raised into the atmosphere, half the world’s population disappearing, Thanos appearing and killing one of the worlds most popular superheroes (and there are museums about this)… I could go on...
Hi all.
It’s taking ages, but finally our broadband should be activated in a few days.
But reading up, the supplied routers wifi performance is poor, and I fear how it’s going to work as it will be installed in the front of the flat in the bedroom and we will want connection all the way...
In a bizarre manner I think if this continues it’s at least going to get all of us to be even more aware about our individual energy footprints… better for the planet etc.
Unfortunately, I do not believe I have a 'smart' boiler controller unit to match with the TRVs. I was going for 'either/or' in terms of a smart thermostat or smart TRV.
But it's looking like its going to be more hassle to install the thermostat. I had one just arrive from Amazon and was looking...
A quick question.
What are the pros/cons of having a smart thermostat vs smart TRVs (assuming I'm not going mad and getting them all), especially from an energy efficiency point of view?
As far as I can see from a very basic level:
Smart thermostat:
Fires up the boiler at set times/detected...
Liking it a lot overall. Still not settled on the exact controller sensitivity options, but I will investigate a bit more.
For context, I stopped playing after Reach (just the occasional game of H4).
I still feel like the overall design of the Halo around H3 and Reach were better. Map design...
I was a bit slack in taking over the old housemates account for our flat.
We got moved over to EDF from Green Network Energy back when they went bust (well before the recent dramas) but our welcome rate (which I think was locked to the GNE rate) ran out in October and we were moved to...
An incredible game. Like all the MGS titles, sat there blown a way a bit when it all ended.
And now.. I've FINALLY found time to start to play Death Stranding on PC (updated DLSS using the swapper tool to further improve graphics)
Feels extremely Kojima (ie, I think this man has a level of...
There is zero chance that they are not at least communicating between the M1 GPU software and chip hardware teams to talk about ray tracing. It can also be used for special effects generation for film/movies. I can see in a few years there is a big announcement about how fast it is in Motion or...
All of which are appreciated, although still won't be letting us play Cyberpunk at 4K ultra just yet... That being said... what if in the background they are working on Ray Tracing Cores? Or DLSS type acceleration? Maybe to also put into Apple TV's and iPads? I guess if these cores can also be...
