    Solar panel production figures

24.7 generated and 15.7 exported. Another not very good day. Barely any sun three days in a row.

27.3 generated and 15.1 exported. Pretty poor here too, but much better than yesterday at least!

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

It's even worse here as the standing charge has shot up so the rate prices have to be lower to hit the price cap. The export rates have gone down in proportion as a result so its even more units per day just to offset the standing charge. Rather annoyingly I didn't get on Flux export until 21st...

    Solar panel production figures

15.1 generated and 5.6 exported in the peak window. Absolutely awful day, just cloud and rain. Battery just got to 98% by 4pm before the force export period.

    Solar panel production figures

41.9 generated and 30.8 exported. A new record for me and the first time over 40. It was still cloudy for large parts too so there's more in it.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

This is essentially my setup, though less panels. I have a 5kW inverter on the 4.8kW array facing SE. This one has the batteries attached. I then have a separate 3.6kW solar-only inverter attached to the 4.62kW array facing north-west. There's a CT clamp attached from the 3.6 inverter to the 5.0...

    Solar panel production figures

33.1 generated and 22.1 exported. It was cloudy almost all day. If only I could get a fully sunny day to see what it can do. I haven't had one since the second array was installed on 10th January!

    Solar panel production figures

That's pretty good considering. With my 4.8kW facing south east a perfect day in June was 34.5kWh, so you probably lost less than 3kWh there in total.

The other issue is that it generally rewards dead-south facing panels. Any panels further around than south-east or south-west and efficiency always suffers.

4th soon I'm afraid. :p 30.5kWh here so far somehow despite the cloud all day.

    Solar panel production figures

35.6 generated and 20.9 exported. A rubbish start and late-afternoon but not bad overall.

    Solar panel production figures

An average April sees 164 hours of sunshine here. We're on just 66 hours to the end of today, so it's pretty bad this year.

    Solar panel production figures

25.8 generated and 15.2 exported. Cloudy all day yet again. Solcast saying 42.0 for tomorrow but I'll believe it when I see it!

    Solar panel production figures

33.1 generated and 22.6 exported. Not quite sure how that happened, the weather was pants!

    Solar panel production figures

Totally grey and raining here too. This Spring has been relentless.

    Solar panel production figures

24.5 generated and 11.4 exported. We had Welsh weather in the east today. The sun didn't show itself until half 3. The NW panels did the heavy lifting with 14.9 alone.

How to getthe best out of Octopus Flux

15p fixed export is a no-brainer now unless you force export lots in the 4-7pm period. The standard export rate on Flux for us is about 13p now, so even sending out 5-7kWh at the peak rate we're only averaging about 16p overall for our export. If it drops more in July and the fixed export...

    Solar panel production figures

What have they predicted for the month? About 415kWh? PVGIS predicts about 350kWh in April for your location with 3.3kW of panels pointing true south with a 35 degree roof angle. Have a look here and plug in your details. It'll be more accurate than your installer prediction...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

It might just be that you're not seeing higher as you're 30% over-panelled on the 5kW inverter. it depends on the inverter, some can use above their kW rating when charging the batteries, but normally you'll see brief peaks above but nothing really sustained.

Solcast's forecast yesterday of 38.0kWh for today is looking a bit wrong. 11am and just 3.6kWh so far.
