I believe it's because Windows Aero uses triple buffered v-sync which is then adopted by the game when playing in borderless window mode. The v-sync used by Windows is very good and well implemented unlike the ****** v-sync you find in a lot of games.
I could get annoyed that I jumped on the 6G too early but at 1080p a lightning probably wouldn't be worth it. I expect at least 1400 stock boost clocks.
Just ordered the MSI 6G! I figured the brand reassurance and the fact that I game on a 60hz 1080p monitor that the Amp Extreme just wasn't worth it. The form factor seems much better too.
Is every Amp Extreme owner having problems with the fluctuating fan issue? I'm on the checkout page now and I'm having last minute doubts. If it's not this it will be the MSI
6G. Also what does triple slot mean exactly? Slots as in the ones on the back of the case that hold the inputs?
Yeah that's basically how I see it too. I guess form factor is a pro for the 6G as well considering the Extreme is a complete monster. I was just wondering why the MSI 6G sells so well compared to almost everything else. Brand recognition probably.
Can anyone here with an AMP Extreme chime in on the sag? I'll be getting one soon and it's something I've been worried about given the sheer size of it.
