I take echinacea all year round and I am 95% convinced it is a placebo at this point, it certainly doesn't do any harm however the cold I have at the moment has been here for 7 days so I certainly don't think it reduces the effects.
My personal way of dealing with cold/flu is:
Tesco yellow...
I certainly will when they get here, I'm chasing them weekly at this point! :D
Monitoring is a work in progress as I've played with a few bits over the years and have yet to find a "boxed" solution that dies everything I want so at the moment I'm working on the following:

I've been meaning to post in this thread hoping my new MS-01's would have arrived but sadly they haven't! :(
In my lab I'm running the following (For now)
1x HP Elite 600 G9 (64GB DDR5, Intel i5-12500T, 2x 1TB M.2 WD Blues) (To be replaced by 2x Minisforum MS-01 12600H units) - Hyper-V Host...
As @SpellowHouse said I would do the same as well, when we re-wired back in 2021 we terminated all cables into keystones around the house that are sat flush in the wall with all the cables being run back to a singular patch panel in the center of the house where our networking gear lives.
In...
I had some old UniFi point to point units which would work even if there was "Less dense" things inbetween them, that being said I would avoid it where possible as when I set them up in testing I found it made the latency worse when there was a cardboard box inbetween the units.
In terms of...
So, one of the big issues you are likely to run into (Even if you aren't paying for your own power) is noise. Some of these rackmount servers not only run hot, but they also run loud, very loud! :D
Does the server need to be rackmount for a particular reason? Or could a desktop server work just...
I seem to be unlucky as when I had my residential connection it changed enough to make it a problem haha :D
I see, that makes sense then, didn't realise they had a habbit of going bust so will steer clear for now
Hey all,
I've noticed in our area there is a fair bit of digging going on and the workers appear to be operating on behalf of someone called "Spring Fibre" however the details when I look them up online are a bit cryptic, they seem to be similar to City Fibre in that they setup and roll out the...
That is really quite bizarre, if you have a different switch spare somewhere I would try that and see if the issue persists as since it's unmanaged it shouldn't make a bit of difference to the setup since it is just allowing more devices to connect on the same network.
@agw_01 is spot on, for brand new hardware UniFi are competitive when it comes to price, they have their quriks (Such as requiring consequtive ports for LACP) but overall they are decent switches.
The only switches in a similar price range would be those on the 193X/192X series from HP which...
Yeah, max supported is 16GB due to the chipset and the unit only having two slots.
As for routers with 8 ports, there are quite a few combined firewall/router units out there which will meet the criteria however if I were doing this I would have a decent firewall at the front of the network and...
It's gonna get pricey with those requirements but I believe if you like the UniFi ecosystem the USW-Pro-48-PoE would likely fit your requirements for PoE, 48 ports and 10 Gbit SFP uplinks.
Alternatively if you prefer the HP camp then the Aruba 1930 JL686A 48 port PoE model would also fit the...
I'll be honest, if its an umanaged switch and their are no fancy DMZ bits setup on the router it shouldn't make a difference to be since they should all be on the same subnet so it doesn't/shouldn't matter what port they are connected to or if the switch is in the way.
Just checking, there is...
I thought the point of our grandfathers fighting in wars was to avoid the need for future generations to do the same?
Regardless, I've no issue if it comes to defending the country, however if its for the latest "let's go defend X resource" then yes, I think many people will take issue with...
Hey all,
Sorry to bother however I'm struggling with an area of config on OPNSense relating to the default gateway on the router.
Recently I got a new N100 mini router PC which is replacing a VM which was running OPNSense, I've taken it as an opportunity to clean down my old config and make...
I think with Proxmox you can pass through the iGPU with a bit of persuasion but then the host OS can't use it if I recall correctly however the LXC container might be slightly different
If you can use Ubuntu on your mini PC you should be able to do HDR tone mapping.
I'm impressed with how well the N100 is doing, on the 4.8 beta it can do 4K @ 160 Mbps without any issues
